Who Is Eligible for Round 2 Option Entry?
Round 2 is open to a specific group of NEET UG 2026 candidates. The KEA portal will only accept logins from these categories.
- Candidates who did not receive any seat in Round 1.
- Candidates who wish to upgrade their Round 1 allotted seat.
- Newly eligible candidates added to the Round 2 merit list.
How Will Seat Allotment Work?
KEA follows a merit-cum-preference model for allotment. Higher-ranked candidates get their top listed preferences first. The engine then moves down the merit list one candidate at a time. This is why the order of options matters more than the count.
Round 2 is a key second chance at Karnataka MBBS and BDS seats. The choices locked now decide the final seat allotment for many aspirants. Missing the September 9 deadline may cost candidates their preferred medical college.
Action Plan for Candidates
- Check the updated vacant seat matrix on the KEA portal.
- Shortlist your preferred MBBS and BDS colleges by branch and city.
- Keep your Application Number and CET Number ready for a smooth login.
- Complete OTP and face verification before starting the entry.
- Save your final choices well before the deadline closes.
Watch the KEA portal for the provisional allotment on September 10. The final Round 2 result and fee payment schedule will follow shortly.
