MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026 Schedule Released at mcc.nic.in; Check Round 1 Registration Date

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 counselling schedule on the official website at mcc.nic.in. Round 1 registration will open on August 5, 2026. The schedule covers the 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical and dental colleges. It also covers admissions to Deemed Universities, Central Universities, AFMS, ESIC, BHU, and AMU.

MCC will conduct the counselling in four rounds. These include AIQ Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. Each round follows the same sequence of registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting at the allotted college.

Candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 must register separately on the MCC portal. Qualifying the examination does not result in automatic registration for counselling.

Who Can Participate in the Counselling?

Only candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 can participate in the MCC counselling process. Applicants must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English.

Indian citizens, NRIs, OCIs, and PIOs are eligible under the applicable seat categories. Candidates must also meet the minimum age requirement of 17 years as of December 31, 2026.

State-quota seats are not included in the MCC counselling process. These seats are filled by the respective state counselling authorities. Students seeking admission to a government medical college under their home-state quota must register separately on the relevant state counselling portal.

• Pay the non-refundable registration fee and refundable security deposit online.

What Documents Should Candidates Keep Ready?

Candidates should keep all required documents ready before the registration process begins. Missing or incorrect documents may delay college reporting and admission confirmation.

The standard list of documents includes:

• NEET UG 2026 admit card and rank letter
• Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates
• Valid photo identity proof, such as Aadhaar Card or PAN Card
• Category certificate for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, or PwD candidates
• Eight recent passport-size photographs

Candidates may also be required to submit additional documents based on their category, nationality, university, or allotted institution.

How Does the Four-Round Process Work?

MCC conducts the admission process through four sequential counselling rounds.

Round 1 and Round 2 are the main seat-allotment rounds where fresh registration may be permitted. The Mop-Up Round is conducted to fill seats that remain vacant after Round 2. The Stray Vacancy Round is the final counselling round, and candidates allotted seats during this round are generally required to join the allotted institution.

Each counselling round follows a fixed sequence:

• Publication of the seat matrix
• Registration and fee payment
• Choice filling and choice locking
• Processing of seat allotment
• Declaration of the seat allotment result
• Reporting and document verification at the allotted college

Candidates must complete every stage within the prescribed deadline. Failure to pay the fee, lock choices, or report to the allotted college may result in the cancellation of the allotted seat.
