Who Is Affected by the Revised Schedule?

The revised timeline applies to all candidates who received a seat in CAP Round 2. This includes candidates whose top three preferences were auto-frozen and those allotted lower preferences. Both groups must complete acceptance and reporting within the new deadline.

Candidates who miss the August 18 cut-off risk losing their allotted seat. They may also lose eligibility for the next CAP round. The CET Cell has advised candidates to complete formalities well before the deadline.

How to Accept the Allotted Seat Online?

Candidates must log in to the official CAP portal to complete the seat acceptance step. The process is fully online for the acceptance stage.

  1. Visit the official portal at fe2026.mahacet.org.
  2. Log in using your MHT CET application ID and password.
  3. View the Round 2 allotment result on the dashboard.
  4. Select the appropriate acceptance option based on your allotted preference.
  5. Submit the acceptance before 3:00 PM on August 18, 2026.

How to Report to the Allotted Institute?

After online acceptance, candidates must report to the allotted institute in person. Reporting confirms the admission and blocks the seat.

  1. Visit the allotted institute before 5:00 PM on August 18, 2026.
  2. Carry original documents, self-attested copies, and the allotment letter.
  3. Pay the admission fee as per the institute's mode of collection.
  4. Collect the admission confirmation receipt from the institute office.

Documents Required at the Institute

  • MHT CET 2026 scorecard and admit card
  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates
  • Round 2 seat allotment letter from the CAP portal
  • Domicile, caste, and non-creamy layer certificates where applicable
  • Aadhaar card and recent passport-size photographs
Why This Extension Matters

The one-day extension aligns the CAP timeline with the August 15 public holiday closure. It gives candidates a full working day after the break to complete document verification and fee payment.
