MAH MCA CET 2026 CAP Round 2 Cutoff Explained

The Round 2 cutoff shows the last merit rank at which a seat was filled. It is set separately for each institute, course, and reservation category. Candidates can view college-specific cutoffs on the CAP portal. Popular colleges usually close at sharper cutoffs than newer institutes.

What Is the MAH MCA CET CAP Process?

CAP is the online counselling process for state MCA seats in Maharashtra. It is run in three main allotment rounds by the CET Cell. Candidates fill preferences from the published seat matrix in each round. Seats are then allotted on merit, category, and choice.

What Documents Are Needed at the Time of Reporting?

Candidates must carry a set of documents for institute-level verification. The list is fixed by the State CET Cell for MCA admissions.

  • MAH MCA CET 2026 scorecard and admit card
  • Round 2 seat allotment letter downloaded from the CAP portal
  • Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and passing certificates
  • Graduation marksheets and provisional or degree certificate
  • Domicile, caste, and non-creamy layer certificates, where applicable
  • Aadhaar card and recent passport-size photographs
  • Fee payment receipt for the allotted institute

MAH MCA CET 2026 Upcoming CAP Round 3 Dates

The CET Cell has also released the schedule for the next round. Candidates who miss Round 2 can join Round 3 later this month.

Event Date
Round 3 seat matrix release August 18, 2026
Round 3 option form entry August 19 to August 21, 2026
Round 3 seat allotment August 23, 2026
Round 3 reporting window August 24 to August 26, 2026

What Happens If a Candidate Skips Round 2 Reporting?

A candidate who skips reporting forfeits the allotted seat automatically. That seat then moves back into the vacant pool for Round 3. Skipping also affects future participation as per CAP rules. Candidates who wish to continue should still track the Round 3 schedule.

Why This Matters

Round 2 is a decisive stage of the CAP admission process. Missing this window pushes candidates into a shrinking Round 3 seat pool. Acting now protects a confirmed spot at a preferred MCA college.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Log in to mca2026.mahacet.org.in and check the seat allotment result.
  2. Verify the allotted college, course, and category details on the letter.
  3. Arrange the required admission fee and original documents in advance.
  4. Report to the allotted institute between August 14 and August 17, 2026.
  5. Complete document verification and pay the fee to lock the seat.
Keep an Eye On

The Round 3 seat matrix goes live on August 18, 2026. Option form entry follows from August 19 to August 21, 2026.
