NCPCR Summons CBSE for Collaboration With Social Media Platforms for Online Classes; Check Details Here

NCPCR, the apex child rights body has summoned the officials of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for its collaboration with social media platforms for conducting online classes.

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) states that social media platforms are not a safer medium and hence encouraging children to use it is not right.

In the letter written by NCPCR, it is written that the officials from the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE should appear before the NCPCR on November 9, 2020.

Priyank Kanoongo, the chairperson of NCPCR stated inviting children to use social media platforms is not the right thing because social media platforms are not safe for children.

The NCPCR has summoned the CBSE board and asked them to give an explanation over it.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has collaborated with Facebook to launch a curriculum on “digital safety and online well-being” and “Augmented Reality” for students and educators.
