NIFT has opened Spot Round Counselling 2026 registration at nift.admissions.nic.in. Candidates with valid CMR can register till July 22 and fill choices till July 23. Seat allotment is on July 24.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has begun NIFT Spot Round Counselling 2026 registration. The registration window opened on the official NIFT counselling portal at nift.admissions.nic.in. It covers the UG, UG Lateral Entry, and PG counselling tracks.
The Spot Round will fill seats left vacant after the first three counselling rounds. Only candidates holding a valid NIFT 2026 Common Merit Rank (CMR) can apply. The registration window will close at midnight on July 22, 2026.

The NIFT Spot Round follows a compressed ten-day schedule. All major counselling activities will take place between July 19 and July 29, 2026.

Who Can Apply for the NIFT Spot Round 2026?
The Spot Round is open to a defined group of candidates holding a valid Common Merit Rank. Eligibility includes candidates from several earlier counselling scenarios.
- Candidates who were allotted seats in Rounds 1 to 3 and paid the admission fee.
- Candidates who participated in earlier rounds but were not allotted any seat.
- Candidates who paid the admission fee but did not receive a seat.
- Candidates who withdrew from earlier counselling rounds.
- Candidates with a valid CMR who did not register for counselling earlier.
- Candidates who registered earlier but failed to upload the required documents.
- NIFT Lateral Entry Admission (NLEA) candidates holding a valid CMR.

What Does the NIFT Spot Round Cover?
NIFT is conducting the Spot Round across three separate counselling tracks. Candidates must apply through the correct portal according to their target programme.
- UG Counselling for Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech) aspirants.
- UG Lateral Entry Counselling for candidates seeking direct admission into higher undergraduate semesters.
- PG Counselling for Master of Design (MDes) and Master of Fashion Management (MFM) aspirants.
PG Counselling also covers the Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech) programme.
The official counselling portal has published a separate vacancy position document for each counselling track. Candidates should carefully review the available vacant seats before filling and locking their choices.

How to Register for NIFT Spot Round Counselling 2026?
The registration process is completely online through the official NIFT counselling portal. Candidates must complete all the required steps before the respective deadlines.
- Visit the official counselling portal at nift.admissions.nic.in.
- Log in using the NIFT 2026 CMR credentials.
- Pay the Spot Round registration fee prescribed in the information bulletin.
- Select preferred NIFT campuses and programmes from the available vacant seats.
- Review and lock the filled choices before midnight on July 23, 2026.
- Separate counselling portal links are available for the UG, UG Lateral Entry, and PG counselling tracks. Candidates must select the correct track according to their target programme.

Support Tools Available on the NIFT Counselling Portal
NIFT has published three video tutorials on the counselling portal. These tutorials explain the processes of registration, choice filling, and seat confirmation with fee payment.
Android users can also install the Pravesh Mitra mobile application to access the counselling portal. Candidates are advised to install the Sandes application to receive official counselling notifications and updates.
The Spot Round is the last chance to secure a NIFT seat for the 2026-27 session. No further counselling rounds will be conducted after this window closes.

- Register at nift.admissions.nic.in before the July 22 midnight deadline.
