UPTAC BTech Counselling 2026 Round 1 Choice Filling Opens at uptac.samarth.edu.in; Check Last Date to Lock Choices

Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) has opened the Round 1 choice-filling window. The window is live on the official portal at uptac.samarth.edu.in. B.Tech candidates can add and lock their preferences until July 16, 2026.

The Round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on July 18, 2026. Allotted candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee and submit their Freeze or Float willingness by July 20, 2026.

UPTAC 2026 is conducted by A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. It manages B.Tech admissions to affiliated colleges across Uttar Pradesh. Seat allotment is based on the JEE Main 2026 rank.

How to Fill Choices for UPTAC 2026 Round 1?

Candidates must access the counselling portal using their registration credentials. Only candidates with verified documents can enter the choice-filling window.

• Visit the official portal at uptac.samarth.edu.in.
• Log in using the application number and password.
• Open the Choice Filling section on the dashboard.
• Select the preferred colleges and B.Tech branches carefully.
• Arrange the choices in the desired order of preference.
• Save the entries and lock the final choice list.
• Download the confirmation page for future reference.

Seat allotment depends on the candidate’s JEE Main 2026 rank, reservation category, and the order of locked choices. Candidates should fill in as many choices as possible to improve their chances of getting a seat.

Who Can Access the UPTAC 2026 Choice-Filling Window?

Only registered UPTAC candidates with verified documents can access the choice-filling window. Candidates with pending document verification queries must resubmit valid documents first.

Access to choice filling is provided only after successful document verification.

Candidates should keep their JEE Main 2026 application number ready and protect their counselling registration password. A stable internet connection is advised while locking the final choices.

UPTAC 2026 Seat Acceptance Fee

The seat acceptance fee must be paid after the Round 1 seat allotment. The amount varies according to the candidate’s category and is non-refundable.

The fee must be paid within the willingness submission window through online payment modes such as net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.

A digital payment receipt will be generated after successful payment.

What Are Freeze and Float Options in UPTAC 2026?

Every allotted candidate must select either Freeze or Float after the seat allotment.

• Freeze: The candidate accepts the allotted seat as final and exits all further rounds of counselling.
• Float: The candidate provisionally accepts the allotted seat but remains eligible for a better seat in subsequent rounds. If the seat is upgraded, the earlier allotment is automatically replaced.

Candidates must complete the seat acceptance fee payment and submit their Freeze or Float willingness by July 20, 2026.

Missing the deadline may result in the automatic cancellation of the Round 1 allotment. The candidate will then lose the allotted seat without any further notice.
