New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a notification on its official NEET UG website – neet.nta.nic.in. The notification states the clarification for the language and medium of instructions implemented in the NEET UG 2023 question papers.
According to the NTA notice, the candidates who selected English as their preferred language while submitting their NEET 2023 applications will only receive test booklets in English. However, individuals who selected Hindi as their instruction language would receive a bilingual exam booklet in Hindi as well as in English.
The NTA has decided to provide the test booklets with questions in both English and the regional language for the candidates, who choose regional languages during NEET 2023 registration.
The NEET 2023 booklet will be white in color for English and Hindi papers, whereas it'll be yellow for regional languages and the Urdu papers will have green color. This year, the NTA will conduct NEET 2023 exam in 13 languages, out of which 11 languages are regional languages of India.
All exam centres will offer English as a language of instruction. All the exam centres across the country will offer English and Hindi. However, English and regional languages are only available in some regions only.
Candidates should note that while the booklet in English will be available at all NEET UG 2023 exam centres, the booklet in bilingual languages like Hindi and Urdu are available only in the exam centres of India.
For instance, the NEET booklet in Punjabi will be available in exam centres across Punjab, Chandigarh, and Delhi/New Delhi (including Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Meerut, and Noida/Greater Noida), whereas the NEET booklet in Assamese will only be available in the exam centres in Assam. Similarly, the NEET booklets in West Bengal, Tripura, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, will be available in Bengali language.
However, the exam centres in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Odisha will offer booklets in their respective regional languages, i.e, Kannada, Marathi and Odia.
Further, the NEET Booklets in Kerala and Lakshadweep, will be offered in Malayalam, whereas booklets in Tamil will be provided in the exam centres across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and the booklets in Telugu language will be offered at the exam centres located in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
