Odisha: When Will the Pending Plus 2 Exams Will be Held? Students Eager About Clarification

While the CBSE and ICSE have cancelled their pending Class X and XII exams, the Government of the State has yet to decide on the Plus II examination of the remaining papers.

Conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), the examination was scheduled to end on March 28, 2020 but had to be halted on March 22, 2020 as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19.

As per the sources, the Class 10^th SSC result may get declared on July 31, 2020, while the evaluation of 10+2 papers are still on

School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said that although the CHSE had proposed a review of the remaining papers, the schedule was not finalized due to the pandemic.

The Department has forwarded the proposal to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) and the Chief Minister will take the final decision on the conduct of the tests.

Officials added that the decision on the re-opening of schools will also be taken after July 31, 2020, taking account of the situation.

Meanwhile, CBSE cancelled its pending Class X and Class XII examinations on Thursday.

It informed Class XII students that it would be possible for them to carry out the assessment process by finalizing or appearing the test after the improvement of the COVID situation.

The ICSE Board also cancelled the Class X and Class XII tests following the coronavirus outbreak.

On the other hand, some students said they would opt to appear after the situation improved. Shohan Swastik Mohapatra, a Plus II student at SAI International School, welcomed the decision of the CBSE.

He said, however, that it was a matter of concern as to how the evaluation process would be followed without examination. "I do not know how the evaluation will be carried out. I may choose to take the exam to get the percentage I've been aiming for, "said Prapti Mishra, another Plus II student.
