Punjab Cabinet gives approval for revision of Fee Structures for the Nursing Courses

The Punjab Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Amrinder Singh on Wednesday gave its green signal for revision of the fee structure of the various nursing courses w.e.f the A.Y 2020-21.

The decision has been taken by the cabinet to strengthen the medical education and the respective infrastructure at both government and private institutes in Punjab.

As the official statement, the increment of fees will be only applicable to the new students getting admitted in the session 2020-21. However, all enrolled students of senior years will continue to pay as per the old fee structures for the complete course.

The revision of the fee structure has been proposed with regard to Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM) courses, B.Sc Nursing (Basic & Post Basic) courses in the private colleges, said an official spokesperson of the Chief Minister.

The spokesperson added that after going through all the possible outcomes the committee has recommended to fix the fees for the government institutes lower than that of the private institutes. 

Proposed Fee Structure

Below mentioned table gives the detailed idea of the increment of fees structures for the nursing courses in Punjab:

The committee has proposed not to increase the fees of M.Sc Nursing courses in both Government and Private institutions.

Cost of pursuing M.Sc Nursing courses at Government colleges is 1 Lakh per year whereas at private institutions it is about 1.50 Lakhs per year.

The Cabinet has also improved the proposed recommendations made by the committee to increase 5% of the fees annually for both private and public institutions for the upcoming five years which will be reviewed after completion of the five year span.
