Punjab Govt. Forms District School Education Reform Team to Improve Quantitative Education

November 05, 2020: Punjab Government has formed the “District School Education Reform Team” to monitor School activities in the state. The main aim of the District School Education Reform Team is to improve quantitative education and assist in ongoing education projects. 

District School Education Reform Team, Punjab will coordinate with their respective District Manager in order to help in overall qualitative improvement of schools. The team will also plan activities in accordance with the Punjab Government initiative "Parho Punjab, Paraho Punjab".

According to the Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab press release, the School Education Department spokesperson stated that the District Education Reform Team will be held under the concerned District Education Officer. 

The spokesperson further stated that the reform team will coordinate with their respective district manager and assist in the qualitative improvement of education. The team will do so by formulating the pan in accordance with Parham Punjab, Paraho Punjab" activities in the state.

The District Education Reform Team activities will perform the ongoing education projects of the state including Punjab Achievement Survey, Smart School Project, English Booster Club, Welcome Life, Buddy Group, Mission Shat-Pratishat, and Enrolment Drive. 

The formation and work of the reform team in the field of education improvement will help and motivate the principals, teachers, and reformers of schools to use new technology for education. 

The District Education Reform Team will also encourage and motivate the school staff and head to follow the COVID-19 instructions and SOPs guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, India. 

Earlier, the government has ordered the schools and coaching centers to reopen in a graded manner in Punjab State. However, the classes for Class 9th to Class 12th students will begin only in accordance with parental consent. 

As per the MHA’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs), schools will not be permitted to attend more than 20 students in a class until further notice. 

Schools are strictly advised to follow the COVID-19 precautions and safety measures during the commencement of online classes in the states.
