RGIPT has opened B.Tech admissions 2026-27 for 11 four-year programmes across 580 seats. JEE Advanced 2026 qualifiers can apply online till June 21, 2026, through the official admission portal at rgipterp.com.

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) has opened Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. The Round 1 application portal went live on June 1, 2026. Eligible candidates can register and submit forms till June 21, 2026, at rgipterp.com.
RGIPT is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Admission is open only to candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced 2026.

RGIPT B.Tech 2026-27 Programmes and Seats
The institute is offering 11 four-year B.Tech programmes this session. The final year will be conducted at the Bengaluru campus. Two new programmes have been added this year.

The total intake is 580 seats. Reservation applies for UR, EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST categories. Supernumerary girls' seats and 5% horizontal PwD reservation are also offered.

The institute has stated that these dates are tentative and may be extended.
Who Is Eligible to Apply?
Applicants must have qualified JEE Advanced 2026. They must also have secured at least 60% aggregate in Class 12. The aggregate is calculated on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and one best subject.
The aggregate requirement is relaxed to 55% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Foreign students are admitted under separate provisions.

How to Apply for RGIPT B.Tech 2026-27?
The application process runs through the official portal at rgipterp.com. Candidates must register, verify their account, and fill in personal details.
Applicants must then enter JEE Main and Advanced scores. The entered scores must match the scorecards exactly. Branch preferences need to be selected and ranked in order.
Class 10 and Class 12 details must be filled next. Candidates must upload a photograph, signature, marksheets, scorecards, and category certificates. The final step is fee payment via UPI, net banking, or cards.

RGIPT Refund Policy for Withdrawn Allotments
Candidates who withdraw before a sub-round deadline get a refund minus the processing fee. The refund is Rs 1,50,500 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the refund is Rs 1,25,500.
Withdrawals made after a sub-round deadline only get back the Rs 9,000 caution money.
RGIPT has introduced two new B.Tech programmes from this session. Electrical Engineering and AI-Enabled Energy Engineering join the existing nine streams. The final year of every B.Tech programme will be held at the Bengaluru campus.
