Unipune: As per the latest update, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) will be conducting backlog exams for non-final year students from December 8, 2020, in a proctored manner which was earlier expected to be conducted from December 3.
The updated official notice released by the University states that the online proctored backlog and improvement exam for the intermediate year students will be held between December 8 to December 23, 2020.
Students will be provided with options to choose both online and offline modes to attend the examination. Students could also take the SPPU backlog exams from home.
Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Nitin Karmalkar stated that the examination dates will be announced later. Around 70,000 students from the Pune University have backlogs and are likely to attend the backlog examination.
Students who have applied for the class improvement scheme were also allowed to appear for the SPPU backlog exams.
About 18,000 - 19,000 students have enrolled in the class improvement scheme when the window was opened.
That is when the university decided to allow such students to take examinations along with backlog students.
The type of questions asked in the SPPU exams will be multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

Outstation students opted for an online mode of examination during the final semester examination. Considering that, the university has decided to conduct the backlog exam only through online mode.
For those students whose network connectivity is low, the university has permitted them to visit the nearest examination center to appear for the exam in online mode.
Pune University has also postponed the Maharashtra SET examination. Earlier, SPPU had scheduled the MH SET exam to be held on June 28, 2020.
But because of the ongoing COVID 19 Pandemic, the exam has been postponed and will now be conducted on December 27, 2020.
