Telangana: Govt. to Issue Duplicate Certificates for Students, Check Here to Know Why

As per the recent notification by Telangana State Government, students will be issued fresh or duplicate certificates free of cost, which were lost in the torrential rains that hit several parts of the Telangana state. 

In recent times, heavy rains and flash floods hit Hyderabad. Students lost their educational certificates and other relevant documents during this time were damaged in the Rains or washed away. 

Due to this, students expressed their concerns to the state education department over the loss of certificates. The state government took the decision after looking into this matter.

Chitra Ramachandran, the Special Chief Secretary of Education, released the orders in this regard. The officials have further informed that they have received many representations wherein hundreds of students have lost their certificates or damaged because of the rain. 

The officials ordered all the authorities to issue new or duplicate certificates whenever the students apply for the same online or offline, including the commissioner schools' education, intermediate education, collegiate education, the technical education, and registrars of universities.

How to Apply for Duplicate Documents?

Students who need a copy of the lost certificates can apply for the same by mentioning the required details;

  • Name of the Candidate
  • Name of the Exam
  • Type of exam 
  • hall ticket number
  • Year of the exam. 

The Government authorities have also advised to issue the certificates on the application fee-free of cost. 

Earlier, the students were supposed to apply for police FIR to trace their lost certificates, along with this, the respective boards would issue a fresh certificate. 

Due to the ongoing disastrous situation of heavy rain in the state, the government announced the rules. The students can now register for the fresh certificates online or through the education department directly.
