New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia will organise Centenary Year Convocation for graduates from the academic years 2019 and 2020 on July 23, 2023. The event will be attended by Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Jamia Millia Islamia will hold its Centenary Year convocation at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The event's chief guest will be Vice President (VP) Jagdeep Dhankhar. The vice chancellor of JMI, Najma Akhtar, requested the education minister to preside over the gathering.
During the discussion with the Education Minister, Najma Akhtar gave him an overview of JMI's most recent accomplishments and victories. The minister was particularly interested in JMI as he was already aware of the university's most recent successes, according to the official announcement.

The vice chancellor also spoke about the university's plans to construct a medical college. Earlier, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, the state's minister of education, laid the foundation stone for Jamia International Hostel on Sunday, July 09, 2023.
In addition to this, he inaugurated three brand-new hostels, namely APJ Abdul Kalam Hall, AM Khwaja Hostel, and BR Ambedkar Hostel. Speaking on this occasion, Singh expressed his gratitude for Najma Akhtar's leadership and expressed his joy at travelling to attend this event.
He said, "JMI has consistently improved and advanced in the NAAC, NIRF, and other ranks. It is commendable that various new faculties and departments have been established at the institution under the active guidance of the VC”.

Rajkumar Ranjan Singh added that JMI had become a centre of learning that emphasised the religious and cultural diversity of the nation over the years. It aids in fostering a learning attitude that balances humanism with manners, nation-building with professionalism, and traditions with modernity.
