Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) 2026 Round 2 choice filling has started. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has opened the window today. Candidates can access the link at uptac.samarth.edu.in. The choice filling and locking closes on July 22, 2026.
The Round 2 seat allotment result will release on July 24, 2026. The authority has also extended the Round 1 fee payment deadline. Candidates can pay the seat acceptance fee till July 22, 2026. The Round 1 seat allotment result was declared on July 18, 2026.
UPTAC counselling covers BTech admissions in Uttar Pradesh technical institutions. It includes government, aided, and private colleges affiliated to AKTU. Seats are allotted on the basis of JEE Main 2026 ranks.

Who Is Eligible for UPTAC 2026 Round 2 Choice Filling?
Three categories of candidates can take part in Round 2 choice filling. First are fresh candidates who registered but skipped Round 1 choices. Second are candidates who did not get a seat in Round 1.
Third are candidates who accepted a Round 1 seat under the float option. They can try to upgrade to a better preference in Round 2. Freeze option candidates cannot participate in the Round 2 upgrade.
What Should Round 1 Allottees Do Before July 22?
Round 1 seat holders must complete two key tasks now. They must pay the seat acceptance fee before the extended deadline. The fee is paid online through the UPTAC portal gateway.
Round 1 allottees must also pick between freeze and float options. The freeze option confirms the current seat and blocks Round 2 upgrade. The float option keeps the seat and allows a Round 2 upgrade.
Missing the fee payment deadline will cancel the Round 1 allotment. The candidate will then lose the right to further rounds.

How to Fill and Lock Choices for UPTAC 2026 Round 2?
Candidates must follow the steps below to complete Round 2 choice filling:
- Visit the official UPTAC portal at uptac.samarth.edu.in.
- Click on the candidate login link on the homepage.
- Enter the application number and password to sign in.
- Open the Round 2 choice filling section from the dashboard.
- Add preferred institutes and BTech branches in order of priority.
- Rearrange the order using the move up or down option.
- Save the entries after every change to avoid loss.
- Click on the lock choices button before the July 22 deadline.
- Download the locked choices slip for future reference.
Unlocked choices will be locked automatically on July 22 by the system. Candidates should verify all entries carefully before locking.
Round 2 is the main upgrade window for float option candidates. Missing this window locks them into their Round 1 seat. The extended fee window helps Round 1 candidates who faced payment delays.
