The conversion rate from CGPA to the percentage at Manipal Institute of Technology is *10. This conversion formula is applicable to all other branches of the institute. Earlier the conversion factor was 9.09. But a few days back a senate meeting was held and it was decided to increase the conversion factor to 10.

One of my friends studied at Mount Carmel College. According to here, there is a lot to know about a college before you make any decision.

• Location: It is located in one of the posh areas of Bangalore and is 5 mins from MG road. 
• Infrastructure: Mount Carmel College has a good infrastructure. The labs are well equipped and air-conditioned.
• Attendance: Attendance should not be taken lightly here as falling short of the criteria will have consequences. 85% of attendance is compulsory.
• Faculty: The science department faculty is very reputed. They are cooperative and rarely do students face problems due to them.
• Canteen: The canteen is hygienic and affordable.

Mount Carmel College has an annual college festival also which is visited by colleges all over Delhi. One of the highest points for the college festival was when Mohit Chauhan visited the Gargi during the festival.

My friend was from the 2012-16 batch and he didn’t have a good experience at the institute. Here is what he had to say about the institute.

Faculty:

SIRT Bhopal is indeed a good college that comes along with an even better faculty who are experienced and helpful towards their students. The number of such great faculty members is few in number.

Infrastructure:

The labs are inefficient and there. The "Central Library" they claim to have and boast about has books that are torn. Otherwise, there are decent facilities like a good auditorium, big classes.

Placements:

They claim to give 100% placement, but you will be disappointed eventually. TCS is the only essential MNC to show up and leave with a maximum number of 10 students. Once they have left, all you are left around with are companies that do not offer a satisfactory package.

But if we talk about the management system, it still has a lot to work on.

You will be amazed to know that my friend in IIT ISM Dhanbad has got a pre-placement offer from Amazon. So you can get an idea of the placement scenario here.

IIT ISM Dhanbad has been ranked 14 by NIRF. The recent years have welcomed many internship and placement offers from companies. Owing to the excellent coding culture the CSE placements here are 100% every year. 

However, your son’s rank is too good for IIT ISM Dhanbad and thus I am recommending some better options for him.

• IIT BHU - Computer Science (Dual Degree)
• IIT Madras - Electrical Engineering

Remember your education matters more than the distance between your home and college. Big achievements require big sacrifices. 

MSIT is well known for its good placement record. The packages are generally mentioned or are told in the email by the company. 

For IT or CS, most of the students get placed provided they don’t have any backlogs and successfully cleared the written examination. Most of the students get placed in companies like Infosys, Accenture, etc. There are good companies too, but their selection process is difficult, which is the case for most institutes.

• The institute has only two branches so the batch size of a particular branch is higher than the batch size of the same branch in other institutes with many branches. So the chances of finding better programmers in a larger group are higher.
• It's a fact that IIIT Hyderabad has a CS-oriented culture and thus attracts the most talented individuals. The majority of assignments are programming based. Additionally, many college activities like hackathons, programming contests, etc are conducted throughout the year. 

Ultimately the crowd is motivated to become great programmers because of the reputation of the college in the same.

IIT Patna was established in 2008, and they are renowned for its effective classes, beautiful campus, well-equipped labs, resourceful life, excellent academics, and best placement support.
