How is BIM trichy as compared to IIM Kashipur?

AC
Anshu Choudhary Posted On : January 5th, 2023
PGDM from Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (Graduated 2018)

One cannot really compare the two as IIM Kashipur is way ahead of BIM Trichy. Some factors that set it apart from BIM Trichy are

  • The IIM brand name is enough to belittle other colleges.
  • The Student Faculty Ratio of IIM Kashipur is better than BIM Trichy.
  • BIM Trichy is a more than 30-year-old B school and IIM Kashipur is less than 10 years old and yet has a better placement. So imagine what the scenario will be in the coming times.
  • Placements

Particulars

BIM Trichy

IIM Kashipur

Highest CTC

INR 17.5 LPA

INR 48.50 LPA

Median CTC

INR 9.65 LPA

INR 12.04 LPA

Top Recruiters

Wipro, HDFC Bank, Shell

Capgemini, ICICI Bank, Cognizant, HCL Technologies, BYJU’s , HDFC Bank, Accenture

So we can say safely that among the two, IIM Kashipur is a safer bet.

Yes, the BHU UET for BSc in agriculture is tough because the seats are limited. Being a popular course, the cutoff is also high. A few tips that will take you a long way are:

  • Download BSc AG Syllabus to make a strategy to cover the topics systematically.

Should I join PGP ACM NICMAR Pune as a fresher?

AD
Aditi Deshpande Posted On : May 25th, 2023
Lives in Pune,Maharashtra

The highest package of NICMAR Pune is 24 LPA, and the average package stands at 9LPA, so if you are a fresher with an excellent academic record, you could definitely think about going to NICMAR since they have an excellent scholarship policy for the students with more than 95% throughout their school and undergraduate degree.

There are good brands like L&T, Axis Bank, JMC Projects (India), and Zetwerk who regularly visit the campus, but being a fresher the CV shortlisting for all the big brands would be slightly tricky unless you have a great resume. So, start working on your resume if you want to spend 13 lac of your money for an average package of 8-9LPA

I am going to join Thapar university this year. Any tips?

AB
Arita Bose Posted On : August 24th, 2021
B.Tech COE from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (2020)

My brother is in his second year at Thapar and here is some of his advice.

  • Make friends: Make as many friends as you can, this will make your stay at the institute enjoyable. Plus making connections will be good as you will be known in the college and it will take away your shyness which will help in interviews.
  • Befriend seniors: Seniors will make your college life easier by guiding you on the right path and helping you whenever you need it.
  • Clubs/ Societies: Try to join 2-3 societies of your interests.
  • Professors: Maintain a good relationship with your faculty members. They can be a huge help in your academics.
  • Events: Take part in competitive events or extracurricular ones. It will help you relax among the study pressure and you will definitely create some good memories
  • Attendance: Maintaining the minimum percentage. At Thapar University it is very important as it affects the placement drive
  • CGPA: Always try to maintain a good CGPA. Try to score at least better than 85 percent of your class and you will find your CGPA to be good enough for placement.
  • Trip: Go on at least one trip with your friends.

These are some of the things you should know before joining the institute.

Is NIT Rourkela worth being ranked as 2nd best NIT (as per MHRD Rankings 2017)?

SV
Sudeeksha Verma Posted On : August 14th, 2023
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (2020)

Currently, NIT Rourkela is ranked as the 3rd best NIT after NIT Trichy and NIT Karnataka as per the MHRD rankings 2023. Now, before determining if NIT Rourkela is worth being ranked so highly, we need to know what criteria make up an MHRD ranking

  • Infrastructure : NIT Rourkela has a huge and serene campus with some of the best campus facilities. It’s said to have the best infrastructure among other engineering colleges.
  • Curriculum: Most national institutes have a similar curriculum where the branch-specific courses are introduced from the 2nd year. NIT Rourkela's curriculum may not be the best but is certainly well-structured.
  • Research papers : NIT Rourkela has an active research culture and has produced almost an equal number of papers and a thesis like IITKGP. This is one of the major reasons for its high rankings.
  • Numbers of courses: NIT Rourkela has a diverse range of courses from several BTech programs to PhD programs.
  • Placements: This is where NIT Rourkela has to step back because of its poor location.

So yes, NIT Rourkela very much deserves the high ranking it gets considering its excellent infrastructure, curriculum, and research opportunities.

Taking distance education from NMIMS is worth it?

SD
Suyash Dutta Posted On : June 27th, 2021
MBA BM, XLRI

Well, frankly speaking, it's not. They will give you a Diploma certificate that is not validated out of India although they are from a recognized platform.

I will suggest that rethink your decision of opting for a distance MBA. NMIMS is undoubtedly is a great management institute but distance management courses are not well perceived in India itself. There are valid reasons behind this. Management education has little to do with theory, it needs a lot of skill-building, mentorship, grooming, which is not possible in distance education. Also, for most of these courses, many colleges do not offer placement offers. Even if they do you will get a lower salary than a regular MBA graduate.

Even in the current Covid-19 pandemic, although most reputed colleges started their classes online, they will go for regular classes with all precaution, once the situation stabilizes. So, choosing a regular MBA will be better.

But if you are determined to do a distance MBA, you may go ahead with ICFAI. ICFAI was built as a not-for-profit society with the broad objective of empowering citizens through world-class quality education. ICFAI has established 11 Universities all across India. ICFAI is even recognized by UGC (United Grants Commission) and DEB (Distance Education Board)

Course Objective:

  • The primary objective of the program is to build business leaders for the 21st century.
  • The course prepares you to handle the wide range of challenges inherent in managing organizations in a dynamic world.
  • If you are opting for this Tailor-made Program then you can be specialized in your own field of Interest.

Two-year Program charges around Rs 65000. For any further queries, you can visit the official site of ICFAI.

What are the conditions to change a branch in IIT Roorkee?

KB
Keshav Behera Posted On : April 12th, 2023
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee

IT Roorkee allows students to change their branch of study under certain conditions. Whichever branch you belong to, you should be among the toppers. Very limited candidates actually get to change their branch because the Strength of a class shouldn't increase by 5% of the actual number of seats. Let’s understand this with the help of an example of 2 branches.

CSE: For instance, if the strength of the CS batch is 80 then only 4 students are eligible for branch change into it. Only 2 out of these 4 are available for General Category students. So the competition is tough as you will be competing with so many students just for 2 seats.

Meta: If the batch size of this branch is 120, and is the least preferred branch. So being a topper from GT, GPT, IMSC, BT, PP, PS, etc. you will face less competition and more seats will be available as many Meta students will have their branches changed to other better branches.

What is meant by best four for DU?

AL
Aradhya Lamba Posted On : October 10th, 2022
BSc in Food Technology, University of Delhi

The rules for calculating the Best Four vary depending on the course you want to take. Each course will have its own set of rules for computing it. Some courses will make some subjects mandatory, which means that whether your score is high or low in them, you must include them in those four subjects in order to be admitted to that course.

The four subject criteria will not be present in every course. Some courses, such as Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Instrumentation, Polymer Science, and others, will only consider your PCM percentage, which is your marks in (Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics) divided by three. Some Biology courses will only consider the PCB percentage, which is (Physics + Chemistry + Biology)/3.

Many things will be said to you about admission to the University of Delhi, but many of them will be incorrect. To obtain accurate information, one must visit the college itself. Attempt to visit various colleges on a regular basis. Remember to take chances even if your score is less than 90%. You will have a better chance of admission if you visit colleges on a regular basis.
