Can you please describe a typical day at NITIE Mumbai?
NITIE Mumbai happens to be my brother’s alma mater, so I think I can give you an idea about life at the institute.
- Pre-Summers: 4–5 lessons each day at most. Summer assignments and preparation. Again, there are a lot of GDs to prepare for the summer. You have to study on your own.
- Post-Summer: Relaxed schedule. There are no more than 4–5 lessons. There are numerous activities on the playground. There will be no issues with preparation and a tight timeline. During the week, you can hang out with your friends. On weekends, the hostel is almost completely empty.
- Internships: During the internship, you will be busy with work.
Aside from that, two to three classes each day are required. Prepare for case studies and try to pass at least one for a bonus point on your CV (takes most of the time). Focus on your final results rather than doing 4-5 assignments (one assignment is enough).
NITIE has a beautiful pond and a lush green campus. Students usually enjoy the beauty of the campus in between classes, and they occasionally visit the pond after dinner.
Outside campus, like any other institution in India, there is a small corner shop called KASHI Snacks. From tea to food, this restaurant has everything for NITIE students. As a result, this is a site that is generally crowded with students.
How is the biotech department of BIT Mesra?
The Biotech Department of BIT Mesra is average. If you want to join a core company after completing your degree, there are better alternatives. Maximum placement at the institute is in IT and Analytics. Among the companies that visit the campus for pavement, Nestle is the only one that is close to your area of interest.

- The department has great faculty and infrastructure. Despite that, you will see many students consulting a lot of books for their course-work, as it is not close to the concept of engineering that they had in mind.
- As mentioned before, very few core companies visit the campus placement. One of my friends pursued Biotech from BIT Mesra and during her time Biotech students were allowed to sit for only a few consultancies as well.
There are alumni of this institute who secure good off-campus placement offers on their own. So, getting a good job offer depends on your effort. This is a brief picture of BIT Mesra. The final decision is up to you.

IIIT Bangalore is better than IIIT Allahabad. It offers a more hands-on practical learning experience. You will learn the concepts by doing. IIITB has a thriving research culture. How often do you regret being a day scholar at LHMC?
Being a day scholar at LHMC has its own pros and cons.
LHMC is located in CP, and well connected to the rest of Delhi NCR via metro. So commuting on regular days is no issue at all. Metro time is rather enjoyable. You can catch up with friends from other colleges. It is a good opportunity to finish your typing/editing work and save up some time. Metro will become an indispensable part of your daily routine.
But during exams, and particularly practicals, spending 2+ hours commuting is a waste of time. Even during theory exams, it is a struggle to travel back and forth from the college daily.
Carrying heavy books to and from the college is very hectic, one such book is Park’s and Robbins. Another thing is that you’ll miss out on a lot of fests and events. Traveling back home after the celebrations is an issue.
So yes, there will definitely be days when you regret being a day scholar at LHMC. But it is mostly during fest and exams.
How is life, studies, facilities, hostel, etc., at PGIMS Rohtak?
PGIMS Rohtak is an amazing choice in terms of campus life, academics, facilities, and hostel. It’s known to have some of the most talented faculty members. Their teaching modules are unique. The labs are well-equipped and the practical classes are quite intriguing. Students learn something new every day.
Regular seminars and competitions are organized to implement the theoretical knowledge of the students. ARMSCON, a national-level conference, is organized every year in mid-October.
PGIMS has a huge campus with excellent sports facilities. There is also provision of hostel and mess facilities but don’t raise your expectations high.
Overall, life at PGIMS Rohtak is pretty good although you might have to adjust a bit.
