As a non-teleguite, what was your experience at NIT Warangal?
I completed my B.Tech from NIT Warangal a few years back. These are my experiences-
- At NIT Warangal, you will get the opportunity to explore a new culture and learn about the Telugu people’s festivals, lifestyle, etc. You will miss this learning opportunity if you choose a college near your hometown. NITW will teach you to respect others’ cultures and adapt to a completely different place.
- While in the South, you will get the chance to taste authentic South Indian delicacies. The mess food is really disappointing though.
- You might face some language barriers with your faculty and the administration. This may overwhelm you at times. However, rest assured that they are most probably not discriminating against you for being an outsider.
- Whenever you feel lonely and not understood, try to figure out if you were wrong somewhere. Try to be strong, correct your mistakes and face the obstacles head-on.
- You will get to hear the sweetest version of Hindi- the Hyderabadi Hindi. You will also watch plenty of Tollywood movies and realize how brilliantly some of them are made.
All of these are my experiences as a North Indian at NIT Warangal. NITW is an amazing place for your growth. Also, through this college, I got to live in the South and explore a totally different culture and place.
What companies take production engineers from NIT Trichy?
Through conversation with the alumni of this branch, I learned that the placements are at par with the other top NITs. A greater number of core companies visit the campus in comparison to other institutions.
Students who choose to pursue their higher studies get into well-known universities in India and abroad. For internships, however, you will have to try on your own.

During placements at NIT Trichy, the roles offered by companies vary greatly from technical profiles in core companies to app developers in IT companies to managerial positions like analysts and consultants.
NIT Trichy is a reputed government institution that offers decent placements and most branches see over 90-95% placement rate. Thus, it is a good choice to pursue your B.Tech in Production Engineering.
How is AIIMS Patna academically? How is its campus and hostel? Is it a good choice?
AIIMS Patna is academically at par with all newly established AIIMS in 2012 and is considered an institute of great importance providing excellent medical education. The institute boasts of a splendid infrastructure attracting many medical aspirants from all over India.
- AIIMS Patna has a massive campus spread across an area of over 100 acres excluding a residential complex that is built on a 34-acre area.
- The infrastructure is excellent, comprising an OPD building, a trauma center, 8 well-equipped OTs, a Blood bank, and an auditorium,
- The architecture of the institute is unique with Madhubani paintings all over highlighting the rich culture of Bihar.
- AIIMS Patna has a big library that operated 24/7
- AIIMS Patna also has 24/7 wifi facilities.
- AIIMS Patna hostel facilities are top-notch with single occupancy rooms. A typical room has basic furniture like a bed with a storage trolley, a table and a chair, a wardrobe and a bookshelf.
- AIIMA Patna mess food is decent and the institute has separate mess for boys and girls with separate canteens as well.
- The sports facilities are also spectacular. These include three badminton courts, a volleyball court, a cricket field and two fully equipped gyms.
- The bus service to and from the campus has increased the patient flow exponentially.
Overall AIIMS Patna is a great choice for medical students with its excellent academics and facilities.
How much should I score in the 12th standard to get into a good college under Anna University?

The Electrical branch offers good placement opportunities to its students. I will mention below the average salary offered during 2023 placement season.
During 2023 placements, B.Tech EE recorded a good performance. 89.66 % students were placed from this branch at an average package of INR 14.61 LPA.
Some companies that recruit electrical students from NIT Durgapur include- Coal India, L&T, Tata Metaliks, Verity solutions, Alstom, Mu sigma, etc.
Wipro, IBM, and INFOSYS are some of the mass recruiters that offer placements to electrical students.

Which one should I choose, IISc Bangalore CSA for an MTech (TA) or Amazon SDET (with CTC around 45+ LPA)?
The choice between IISc Bangalore CSA and MTech TA or a job at Amazon depends on your preferences and future prospects. If you have a passion for software/application development, then the SDET role at Amazon will give you an edge overcome who chooses to do MTech first. If you are worried about acquiring CS knowledge, trust me MTech is not the only way.
Nowadays big companies offer amazing courses that keep you at par with industry trends. Moreover, as an Amazon SDET, you will get the opportunity to work with some of the most talented engineers from top universities around the world which will be an enriching experience.
However, if your interest lies in core computer science, then an M.Tech at IISc Bangalore will give you a better understanding of core CS subjects. An MTech will help you to secure jobs at FAANG, such as Amazon AWS or Google’s Core Search team. An MTech will also be beneficial if you are looking for specialized jobs like CPU Performance Architect at AMD or AI Compiler Engineer at Facebook. The major criterion for such kind of job is to have a research experience in relevant fields. If you are interested in core CSE, IIIT Allahabad is a better option than NIT Rourkela. It has a great faculty base and offers decent facilities to students. The coding culture of IIIT Allahabad is unparalleled. If you want to learn to code, it will be an ideal choice. From the beginning of the first year, you will study more coding and IT-related subjects at IIITA.
It has a great placement record. According to the recent highlights of IIIT Allahabad placements, students receive an average CTC of INR 61 LPA. The placement average is around 92%.
What are the benefits of studying in Bannari Amman Institute of Technology?

Why is everyone saying that IIEST Shibpur doesn't have good placement records, even though placements at IIEST are quite good?
Good college placements must meet the following requirements-
- The placement percentage should be between 60-70%.
- The average salary should be 6-8 LPA.
- The highest package should be 40-50 LPA.
- A good number of core companies and consultancy firms should visit the campus.
IIEST Shibpur performs well in all these parameters. It has a placement percentage between 55-60%. It delivers an average package of around 6 LPA, and the highest package close to 45 LPA.
A long list of companies visit the campus for recruitments. These include- Amazon, BHEL, Britannia, Bridge & Roof co., Blue Star, CCD, Coal India, Capgemini, CESC, DXCorr, DVC, Essar, Essar mining, Ericsson, Vedanta, TATA Steel, TATA Metaliks , Microsoft, Hindustan Motors, Unilever, Shapoorji Pallonji, LnT, HSBC, Hyundai, IOCL, ITC, Mahindra, Maruti, Mu sigma, PWC, Samsung , Siemens, TATA power, Hitachi, ZS Associates etc. All these are either core companies or top consultancy giants.
Across all colleges, placements and average packages are shrinking. Even the top colleges witness an average package between 8-11 LPA.
IIEST Shibpur isn’t a top engineering college, it does not receive immense funding, and the student crowd isn’t the best. Keeping all this in mind, its placements are quite good. In fact its placements are growing at a consistent rate.
