- The first year is where you should explore many subjects and areas instead of deciding your subject expertise.
- There are numerous PGs and private hostels in Raipur. You can live there if you do not get a hostel. Living in a hostel can create tension and uneasiness among students.

- There are lots of committees in NIT. You can volunteer as much as you can. It will make you learn about them and enhance your personality. But don’t compromise your studies. You can also choose to not be a part of any committee, it solely depends on you.
- Behind the campus area, there is a place called Kota. Whatever you need in your college days as a student you will get here.
- You will find a student organization on the campus. It provides all second-hand materials such as books, scientific calculators, previous year question paper, notes, etc. You can contact them via Facebook or on other social media handles.
- Get your books issued from the library in the early semester. As books will run out. At a time you can only get two books. Students also get up to four books through Book Bank sections.

School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal is definitely the better option. In Architecture, SPAs are equivalent to IITs. Since SPAs are operated under the Ministry of HRD, they offer better infrastructure, funds, and facilities for students. The placement opportunities offered to the students are quite good too. Students get internships ranging from INR 10,000 to INR 60,000.

The credibility of certain placement stats attached to IIIT Guwahati is a whole different idea that various people clearly do not grasp. One of my friends, being part of the institute, has shed light on the topic. Here is a brief approach to it,
- Several graduates join start-ups. The infrastructure is simple. Companies have their own starting point.
- Computer engineers mainly join start-ups because they want to put growth in their innovations.
- IIIT Guwahati provides students with degrees, skills, and required education to pursue jobs. They do not strain their students to take up jobs in sectors that they are not willing to take otherwise.
- Students should take up job seats in well-known companies with their skills. They have the freedom to choose what they want to pursue, whether it is a well-renowned IT sector or a start-up they either want to establish or be part of.
Having said that, when an authority updates or posts placement stats, they are diligently verified. Apart from any small mistake, the information provided is approved. After the first round of verification, it undergoes the second from the director of the institute.
You should primarily understand whether or not the student has taken up their job in either an IT giant or a start-up.
Which is the best, IIEST Shibpur or NIT Silchar?
Here is a comparison between IIEST Shibpur and NIT Silchar based on some common aspects

Does WBUT (MAKAUT) send transcripts to WES? WES changed its rules this year and they’re not accepting transcripts unless it’s sent by the university itself.
My friend faced a similar issue when she sent her transcripts to WES and right then the rules changed. She lost all hope but soon the transcripts were being sent to the university. Illogically enough, students had to send each document as a separate courier and not together. After waiting for a very long time, her transcripts finally made it to WES on time. Fortunately, MAKAUT sends it through DHL Express, and all her efforts paid off in the end.

Which is better: VIT Vellore or BIT Sindri?
I am a B.Tech CSE student at VIT Vellore, while my elder brother studies at BIT Sindri. Therefore, I can offer a more unbiased insight into why I chose VIT Vellore for my engineering studies-
- Infrastructure- Both the institutions have a huge campus, but in terms of infrastructure, VIT Vellore is better. Its labs are modern and well equipped, whereas BIT’s labs are old and require maintenance.
- Placements- VIT delivers better packages. Moreover, it is a better choice for IT placements. On the other hand, BIT Sindri delivers better core placements with companies like Tata Steel, Tata Hitachi and JSW visiting the departments for recruitments.
- Exposure- VIT offers really good exposure to its students in the form of internships, student exchange programs and training. At BIT Sindri, internship offers are a rare phenomenon. Tata Steel does offer PPOs to BIT students.
- Faculty- The faculty at VIT is more experienced and qualified.
The yearly B.Tech course fee at VIT Vellore is approx. INR 2 lakhs, while that in BIT Sindri is approx. INR 20,000. But VIT offers much better infrastructural facilities and exposure to make up for the huge fee difference.
Due to these reasons, my brother suggested that I pursue my B.Tech CSE at VIT Vellore instead of BIT Sindri.
