Whether one institution is better than the other is purely based on the discretion of an individual. A conclusion must be drawn keeping other factors such as faculty, academic quality, personal disposition and expectations in mind as well.
If you are already PMP certified then pursuing Project Management course of IIM Kozhikode will not add much value to your experience. This is because
Firstly the course is for professionals who are interested in acquiring the PMP and CAPM certification. Since you are a PMP certified professional, it means that you are an experienced professional too. So this course will add no value.
Secondly, the objective of the course is to impart real-time work experience, and understand the principles of project management. As a PMP you already have these skills.
If you want IIMs title for your CV then go for it. But know that you won’t learn anything new from it.
I am a student of CSE at NIT Hamirpur. Here are a few facts about my branch-
Considering all these factors, and the fact that it offers the best placement records, I would say that CSE is the best branch at NIT Hamirpur.
If you are considering pursuing CSE at IIITDM Jabalpur, there are a few things you should know. Here are some important points to keep in mind:
Overall, CSE is a great field to pursue, but don't take our word for it. Do your own research about the institute you are considering and make an informed decision about whether it is the right choice for you.
One of my friends graduated from BITS Pilani and he scored a good CGPA of 9.2 in his 4th year of CSE. Following points are a few facts about the institute that might help you:
For any junior, I would advise them on attending as many classes as possible. You can skip the humanities and open electives but not your core subjects. Make sure even if you miss out on the classes, you cover the syllabus through self-study.
It is, indeed. By far.
Whether you want a tech role, a front-end IB role, a PE/VC role, trading, algo trading, a hedge fund or quant role, a risk manager or a financial regulator role, or even a research career in finance, IIM C is by far India's best offering. It has a cutting-edge Finance Research and Trading Laboratory, multiple terminals throughout the campus and the laboratory, the largest annual research output by PhDs in India, and much more.
In terms of both absolute placement rates and batch percentage, IIM C has the highest placement rates in India's finance industry.
Honestly speaking all the B Schools you mentioned are just glamorous brand names with no real value. The placement scenario is very pathetic here as the companies that visit are looking for students who can work at fewer salaries. Only the extremely meritorious students get good packages and that too is rare.
So I will suggest that if you have scored 95+ in CAT, then you are capable of more. So work hard and target a better B School next year. Remove these colleges from your list of options and attempt CAT again.
If you are not very sure about attempting CAT again then prepare yourself for a package as low as 5-6 LPA.
Irrespective of the branch, any B.tech graduate can appear and get selected for IES. The syllabus for IES is prescribed by UPSC. Currently, instrumentation engineering is not one of the subjects in the syllabus of IES.
The IES exam is conducted in three phases, i.e. prelims, main and personal interview.
The following table contains the syllabus of IES.
|
Syllabus |
Paper-1 |
Paper-2 |
|
Prelims |
General studies and engineering aptitude |
Engineering discipline (civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunications, and electrical engineering) |
|
Mains |
Engineering discipline -1 (civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering) |
Engineering discipline -2 (civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunications, and electrical engineering) |
As mentioned in the table IES consist of the following subjects.
Therefore, it might be difficult for a student to select and study other branch subjects. It will require extra effort but it is possible.
The syllabus of instrumentation engineering is 90% similar to the syllabus of electrical engineering and electronics and telecommunications. Hence, it is advised that instrumentation engineering students should choose electrical subjects for the IES exam. However, there is no hard and fast rule to choose electrical subjects. You should select the subject in which you have good command.
