The college is good. Recent years have seen an increase in the number of students, and the college is still developing to take care of that. It should be fine in a few more years.
Entrance Preview
IIT JEE Advanced. Marks: 167. I chose the college because of my course, Petroleum Engineering, which is not offered at many other colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is comprehensive, with enough focus on research and non-core subjects alike. We have theory classes for concepts, practical classes for practical knowledge alongside field excursions and trips. Every student has to undertake research in the form of a project.
Internships Opportunities
I have personally never been on an internship through college yet. Cairn India visited the campus last month.
Placement Experience
The placements are department dependent. This year CSE has been performing very well, but it is too early to draw any conclusions yet as we still have the better of a year left. In my department, Cairn India and MECL visited last month and hired 2 and 6 students respectively.
College Events
There are 3 major college fests.1. Concetto: Our annual tech fest usually held in October.2. Parakram: Our sports fest, usually held in February.3. Srijan: Our cultural fest, usually held in March. Srijan is the grandest of all. Last year, it saw audience from around the country and performers from around the world.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a government college, the fee is pretty manageable. A four year course would set you back around 4 lacs, including the mess and hostel.The rest is dependent on the individual. There are also merit-cum-means scholarships for the financially underprivileged.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is developing, and is greatly improved than what it was 5 years ago, and hopefully somebody will be saying this again 5 years from now. A new Student Activity Centre has come up with facilities for all sorts of sports and games. A new research facility in the pipes too. The gender ratio is very bad at around 1 girl to over 10 guys.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are small, but the hostels themselves are decent. One major problem is of cellular network reception, and has to do with the construction of the buildings. Newer hostels are coming up which should improve the space crunch. The mess food i

The alumni network is a bomb, there are just so many ISMites everywhere, and they are so helpful. There is an alumni meet every year which is the best time to get in touch.
Exam Structure
The practical and sessional exams end early, giving you plenty of time to prepare for the end-semester exam. There are also preparatory leaves in between the exams which provide ample time for revision. The mid-semester exams are relatively shorter and en

The faculty is dependent upon the department, and is good by Indian standards. There a few great teachers and some who aren't very good. I guess all of them have the requisite knowledge and it's only the teaching skills that set them apart from each other
