The only negative aspect about the college is that it is situated at a distance of minimum 3 hours from the nearest train station or airport. Apart from that i dont think there's much to dislike about smit boys can stayol oytside the hostels till 10 which i suppose is enough. There are night canteens in all the hostels.

The course curriculum is at par with most of the prestigious colleges all around india. The subjects in the first year are very well divided so that a studrmt does not feel burdened in either of the semester. We have 3 exanination all over 1st on 2nd month of the semester known as SESSIONAL 1 The next one after 2 months known as SESSIONAL 2 and the last one end semester examination.

Every year companies like microsoft, dell,amazon,and a lot of other mncs come for placement drives. The students always try there best to get into those and decure their future. Every year atleast 90% of the students are placed in more than 50 mncs and start-ups. Incubation centre is also setup for budding entrauprenaurs.

There are a hell lot of events organized in the college. The main attraction of all is the cultural fest called KAALRAV it is the biggest culturak fest in all of the north east. It occurs in the month of march where international celebrities are invited to perform. Technical fest Tech Adrishta and sports fest ATHLIMA are other main events that are a highlight for the college other than tjis there are atleast 10 other events organised as departmental fests or on any festival. Other workshops and seminars are also organized for the students.

The fees all in all is feasible for a private college and worth for money. For a cse student it is around 13-14 lakhs for 4 years. One can get scholarship upto 30% according to his class 12th score. State quota and sports quota is also applicable for eligible students.

The college is open for all the nationalised scholarships offered by the central or state government. They themselves also provide 30% tuition fee waiver to students who secured above 90% in pcm in their class 12th. And a tuition fee waiver of 10% to students who secured above 80% in pcm in thier class 12th.

The college provides well equipped labs for all subjects with the most advance equipments. For sports there is a cricket ground ,football ground, volleyball court,5 basketball courts,7 badminton courts,squash courts, table tennis,lawn tennis,swimming pool,well eqipped gym and other facilities. They're are different clubs for different likings dance singing etc etc.

The alumni network is not very vast as the college is not very old. But comparing to colleges if the same age smit has a much better alumni base which always try to better the quality of the college and its reputation. People from smit always remember is as it is a place no one can ever forget.

You get a score in admission test first of all then accirding to your scire you are given a stream to choose cse mechanical ece and others. then you go for counselling in either of 4 places in india- jaipur,manipal,hyderabad or gangtok where the final admission process is done.

The faculty leaving a few are very knowledgeable and experienced and are always ready to help. In total there are around 250-300 faculty inclufing all streams and departments. In CSE department for B. Tech there are around 40 faculty members for 2nd 3rd and 4th year.
