Course Curriculum Overview
First I need to go through the housework process. Two subjects namely Research Methodology and Radiating System I took as coursework subjects. Also I need to appear for a seminar presentation. And then research work was started with real passion. Details of PhD admission is shown in the website.
Placement Experience
It is expected that PhD students should not look for placements, but there are few cases where PhD students are placed in R&D cell in some organization. For B.Tech and M.Tech, lots of opportunities are there.
College Events
Many events like college fest, departmental fests, Saraswati Puja, Biswakarma Puja, Tech Adriana, Entrepreneurship world cup, Athlima, Alumni meet, Concours, New Year celebration, Holi Celebration, Independence Day, Republic Day are some of the events that are celebrated every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I need to pay 15000/- per year for PhD. But now it is increased to 40000/- per year. Hostel and Mess expenditure are very reasonable. Payment can be done in instalments. Exam fees need to be paid independently. Not more than 4000 pocket money required.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I didn’t get any scholarship but SMIT helped me to get sample materials for fabrication process from Roger Corporation.
Campus Life
I really enjoy the campus life. I can work even the whole night for carrying out my research work after taking permission from concerned authority. I prefer to swim for keeping myself fit and fine. In addition to that, all sports facilities like volleyball, football, lawn tennis, Table tennis, squash are available.
Alumni/Alumna
Every year institute organizes Alumni meet and provides a great platform for existing students to interact with alumni. Senior students are also very cooperative.
Admission
I appeared for the entrance test. It was a 3 hours exam conducted by SMU. After qualifying the exam I went through an interview process for taking the admission. But the main challenge lies in publishing research articles. At least two SCI papers Can meet the requirements.
Faculty
Faculty members are mostly very approachable and interactive. I got immense help from faculty and staff for carrying out my research work. Student-friendly administration also helps students to grow holistically. Faculty members also extend their kind help for developing students.
