Remarks

The are many positives for my college regarding studies, lab, sports but there are also some negatives in fees and facultys. The college is situated away from town. Many middle class students come here,so for them fees is high.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is decent and average like other colleges, but it can be improved for better studies. The 3 year course is divided into 6 semesters and 2 semesters in a year called odd and even sem. Each sem have total of 100 marks for each subject divided into 25 Internals and 75 of externals.

Placement Experience

Placement and job opportunities and quiet decent and above average. The college has many outside companies who come for job requirements.More than 150 students are being recruited every year.our college doesn't provide enough intership.

College Events

Our college has lots and lots of events and culturals conducted. There are 2 major college culturals named FESTEMBER and FANTABULOUS.Other than these there are many other events like department function and many more.

Fee Structure And Facilities

About the fees structure it's too expensive for middle class families. The college doesn't provide enough education for fees given.when the college got deemed and autonomous the fees got higher again. The regular fees for my course is 22,000 for each sem and 1000 for exam fees, other than this transportation fees 5000, Cultural association fees and some more.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship and loan offered are very low,not sufficient for a normal student.I haven't any loan or scholarship for my college.most of the students are middle class family students,so the loan offered are too low.

Campus Life

4.5

Regarding extracurricular activities my college is quite good in that. There are many activities conducted every month.laboratories are well maintained and equipments are costly and sufficient for many student.Sports activities are also well conducted.

Alumni/Alumna

Our alumi's are awesome peoples. They even come to our college once in a month after graduation. They are very helpful and caring. They suggest many ideas for our better living.Help gain our knowledge. They are like secondary teachers.

Admission

Admission in this college is via management and interview.I got admission here by Management. There are many agents across palakad and coimbatore for for booking seats in this college.I blocked and reserved a seat via a agent near me.

Faculty

1.5

Facultys are below average. Not all of them are well talented. Most of the facultys are from Tamil Nadu and they communicate in Tamil which makes difficult to understand for Malayalam students.low graded facultys are appointed for high level teaching.

Nit Trichy B.Sc. B.ed. student review

Likes

girls to boys ratio is 1:1 is we consider all three branches with some courses with more male while other having for female.more or less the ratio is near 1:1
the most important thing for you is there is close to zero discrimination for you , whether you want to join any club or perform anything you are equivalent to students with others bachelor degree
octagon and library are the two things which are good as library is considered the biggest library among all nit's while octagon having 800 computers for students.NSO ground is also well maintained with the beautiful mig fighter jet to take cool phot

Dislikes

for first years hostel are well maintained if compared with others but don't expect much from hostel atlast this is a government college.in first year 3 to 4 person sharing room are there which was build to carry 2 person.
Quant and entrepreneur thing is not there as you might expect by seeing the nirf 9 ranking but it is not zero .they are growing clubs like profNITT and Sigma are young and they could do better
curfew timing for girls are 9 or 9:30 pm i guess be it any year. for boys ,only freshers have curfew with timing 9:30 pm.other than that any student can't step outside the college after 10 pm without the sign out form.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as maths is the mother of all science and quite related to other fields so it opens a lot of door for me like mba ,mtech ,phd or any other things. this course is specifically designed for becoming teachers so keep that in mind before taking this course as they are not flexible in changing curriculum or adding something for the sake of students as of now. also you will be having more working days compared to other courses with 80 percent mandatory attendance.after first sem you will get 1 week holiday and after 2nd sem you will get 50.days holiday and after first year you can expect 20 days holiday for winters and 50 days holiday for summers. you will get a lot of time to study for exams. before ct 1 you can expect 2 months and then atleast a month for ct 2 and endsems. cons are that you don't have the right to choose minor or electives like btech students.you have to compulsory study all three science .i.e. maths , physics, chemistry.

The college is strict regarding alcohol and smoking and it is not allowed inside campus and regular alcohol checks are conducted . Discipline and safety is the first priority for the college.
Classrooms are air conditioned. Hostel rooms are good . Any defects in rooms or any places inside college which are addressed are rectified.

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

THE IDEAL COLLEGE LIFE!

Likes

The opportunities to meet new people and interact with a whole new circle of people by Club Activities as there are quite a lot of clubs according to the student's interest.
Many places to showcase our singing and dancing talent once we join the club or take part in any of the department events.
They have multiple labs for a single department so that the students get a lot of hands on training for coding and as well as hardware.

Dislikes

4:3 Ratio of Girls to Boys in my class and i hope it's the same for all the departments as well.
The college timing can go from 8:30 AM to 5:10PM.
The 75% attendance is kind of doable and maintainable to an extent.

Placement Experience:

about 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed afdter the colleg and the ones not placed also gets placed after the college with high network and communication from other contacts within the college, ZOHO Corp does take placements and i am preparing for my CAT exams as i am planning for My highers at IIM, 5th semester is when the students become eligible for the campus placements and the seniors are a good connection who help to get places and get a job after the completion of degree.
