College management was very supportive and helpful.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was semester wise. There was eight-semester, two-semester in each year. Each semester had three sessional examinations followed the final semester examination. Each semester had five to six theory subjects and two to three practical subjects.
Placement Experience
Campus placement was average. At that time campus placement for the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was low.
College Events
Kaalrav the three-day cultural event was my favourite event. It was being organised every year. Science fair and technical workshop and seminars organised by the society of electrical and electronics engineering department gave us a lot of exposure to learning.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for the tution fee of SMIT was quite high as compared to other colleges. Mess charge and hostel charge were other major expense after the tution fee. Both were justified as per facilities provided. Except above there was no major expenditure.
Fees and Financial Aid
Not opted for any scholarship because there was no scholarship scheme at that time. I also not opted for an education loan.
Campus Life
Campus life was very pleasant. We did a lot of fun with our friends along with our education. The location of the college makes the campus environment very pleasant. The gender ratio was quite high. Every one has good regard to others gender,religion. No comment on sexual orientation and college politics as it remains present in every college.
Hostel Facilities
Facilities in the college hostel were good and it was worth paying. Only double rooms were available for students. All rooms were well furnished with study table and chair, bed, almirah, attached western washroom, hot water connection and proper lighting arrangement.
Alumni/Alumna
Simitian has a strong alumni network and it is very helpful. We discuss the things and take help of seniors and juniors also.
Admission
I got admission in this college based on marks obtained in 10+2 Examination. Initially, I got admission in the First batch of mechanical engineering started in 2001. After completing the first year I changed my brach from mechanical engineering to electrical and electronics engineering.
Faculty
The faculty members were well qualified and they were expert of their field in both and practical subjects. Their behaviour was good and helpful except for one or two faculty members. The teaching approach of faculty members like Mr. K S Sherpa, Mr. Rajiv Dey Md. N H Ansari was excellent.
