Remarks

This place should be your last resort and you should only join any private colleges if you have not qualified for any government college. If you can rely more on yourself and less on the college then it is a good place. To conclude, I do not recommend Chandigarh University unless you don't have any other options.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

The University have many courses and by many I mean so many courses that you can see the whole campus filled with different type of students from different types of streams doing their work, the agriculture students can be seen in the fields just outside the campus, engineering student can be seen with their machines such as cars, hotel management students can be seen selling cakes and food items, architecture students can be seen working with concrete and cement. It is an average university and it does try to do it's best but, the problem comes when there are too many students to teach and Yes, there are so many students in each course and each class that it just becomes hard for teachers to work.

Placement Experience

1

Now comes the placements, my college does provide placements but I've heard that those boosted up numbers and ranks are just for gaining more attraction and nothing else. The placement is real only for the engineering students and few other streams rest all don't really have placements, and if they do have placements the packages are like 5k per month and Yes, it hurts. The fee structure and the placement have a really bad relationship with each other. Now let's come to internships, Yes, you do get the chance to do summer internship and other training if you happen to find one, this place does not support you in any way and mark my words guys ' it does not support you' if you somehow get detained then you will loose the chances to go for internship. The senior faculty like HOD do send some students for internship at really good companies but those are the type of students who you will not like, trust me you'll get it if you come here. So the conclusion is you are on your own kid, just like any other place here you'll have to do everything by yourself and No,body will help you to achieve your goals.

College Events

4

Many events are celebrated in my college, there are inter as well as intra department competitions of sports, modeling, painting, acting and drama, working model, etc. These events occur every months and you do get a really good co-curricular life if you are looking for it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is a bit expensive, I have taken agriculture and the fee ends up around 1lakh per year and it is just the fee of the college not including hostel or PG and the fee is of 2017 Now it might have increased as it increases every year. The fee for courses like engineering and architecture are the highest I believe.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I did not opt for any scholarship or any education loan but I have seen that the procedure is straight and simple.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is not what you see in movies and everything else is very different. But in simple words it is fun ( only for a year or two). As you spend more time in the campus you'll start to get bored. You'll find students from different states as well as different countries.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Yes, initially I opted for a hostel and I left it in the second year to move into a PG with my friend. The food was disgusting at my time but I have heard that it has improved Now, the rooms are small and they have 4 students in each room. The PG are cheaper and more independent as compared to the hostels which have strict rules and students are kept like animals in shed.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, they are helpful and ragging is No, issue in this place but it would be better to stick to your batch and keep information from the seniors, don't just get too involved with seniors as they will leave before you.

Admission

I took admission in this college just because it had 'Bachelor of Science in Agriculture', it is one of the few private colleges with a good brand name and course availability. I took admission in 2017 and duration of my course is 4 years. Admission procedure was pretty easy, it was also easy to change stream in the beginning, as they take around 10-20 k for changing the course. It has multiple offices in each and every state and you can also take admission thourough the online website.

Faculty

1.5

The faculty of Chandigarh University is probably one of the reason why the students talk bad about it. The teachers are more like interns who have completed their graduation and are looking some experience and money before they could either go for higher studies or any government job. Teachers are very young and are not very knowledged, they teach from PPTs and other soft copies and rarely touch the books. Some teachers are good and most are just passing their time, the time table itself is baad, it has so many flaws and trust me I have been there for 3 whole years and I know nothing is going to change for the next thouree.

Placements are not better but as compare to other colleges it is good according to the less fee structure .The highest salary package is offered with 8LPA and the lowest is 3 LPA. If you are getting admission for the placement so this is not the college for you.
