Remarks

Too small to be called actually. The college even though placed athe heart of Chengannur town is very small in area. The infrastructure are even smaller and often ai have felt that the limit in the courses offered in the college is due to the low infrastructure and limited area that college possess.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum, IMO is actually outdated and hectic for both students and teachers. The college is which is affliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology, which lik many other universities in India follows an age old method of by hearting a vast topic under a single subject rather than focusing on the basics and the necessary ones, which should be the prime intention of a graduation programme.

Placement Experience

4

TCS, Wipro and many other startup companies based in Kerala were there for placement. One draw back of the placement drive is that almost all of the companies were IT related. Students of branches other than Computer Science Engineering are left with no choice than to attend these placement drives which has no direct link to the course they have studied.

College Events

2.5

Tech fest. Arts/Cultural fest. Sports meet. Are held annually, inside the college. Classes are divided into four different houses and competitions are held. Each events in the competitions are awarded with certain points, both to the winners and two runner ups in a descending manner. The winner for each fests are selected on the basis of grand total to each houses. Winning house i awarded with trophy

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college is aided by the Kerala government. So as every government aided colleges in Kerala, the seat division is as Merit, Management and NRI. Those who acclaimed seats in the merit quota has to pay a fee of ?35,000 annually, which in my opinion is feasible for the majority. Those who got seats by management quota has to pay an annual fee of ?65,000 which seems somewhat expensive considering the college's infrastructure and enviornment. Those who acclaimed their seats through NRI quota, which is very low in percentage has to pay an annual fee of about ?1,25,000 which in every terms seems expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college doesn't offers any Scholarships. Both scholarships and education loan were provided by government authorities on merit basis and income basis respectively.

Campus Life

1.5

The college like many other colleges in Kerala has conservative views on co-education. Although the college is co-ed, the teaching and non-teaching staffs always seemed some kind of disturbed of students of the opposite gender mingling freely. Debates and competitions are held atleast yearly as part of the tech fests and arts fest respectively.Sports activities, with the limited area that college have is appreciable. Sports meet and intercollege tournaments are held in yearly base.

Hostel Facilities

2

The room availability at college hostels for men are limited. Most of the students were left with no choice than to opt for PGs. The rooms available at college hostel are all shared, both in the case for men and women. Most of the PGs have neat, clean bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Although food was not provided in most of them, the average rent( fee) were low compared to many other colleges.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni network seems nominal which is no surprise. Although the inter batch relation of seniors and juniors are appreciable while doing the course.

Admission

I wanted to do engineering in one of the core branches and give some thought about it. Atlast ended up picking Electrical and Electronics Engineering because I thought it would be best for me. I got some above average rank in the KEAM, by which the best college I could opt for Electrical and Electronics Engineering was this one.

Placement Experience:

Upon reaching s7 students are invited for campus placement but they have to pass different criteria to become eligible for attending the interview, a minimum cgpa of 7.5 and academic skills a these are the basic requirements and an aptitude test will be given and in further selection these criteria are looked. I plan on pursuing a job after completing by btech. More than half the students in a batch are getting placed usually.
