Course Curriculum Overview

The course is a regular course and they would be about two years course with four-semester exams. As they are a post-graduate course there would be a difference in the pattern where you would be advised to look more into the depth of the course and there would be relative research and project work.

Placement Experience

Many firms would recruit their students but they would not be the designation related to our course. There would be a certain genre in which we would be selected and they would provide us a minimal pay. The internships are not given much importance but a societal problem has to be addressed with the solution.

College Events

There are numerous events in the college which are mostly related to the state functions. There are also technical events in the college and they would be provided precise importance, that would be even added in our academics. Therefore there are events to bring out the students real them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The government college would have a feasible fee structure where you would enjoy the whole freedom. There are relaxations in the fees along with the scholarships and many other facilities are made free or with a concession by the college. As a social welfare college, the fee is not pressurized upon the students.

Campus Life

Social welfare activities would be always held at the college premises and they would do good to the community. There are even more activities held to show people the importance of education. There are sports clubs in the college and they would encourage the students in sports.

Alumni/Alumna

Interactive sessions are often held at the college between the students and the alumni so that they would get to know about the future field of theirs. The alumni would provide scholarships to the students which would be much more helpful to the students and they would have a separate community.

Admission

The student should possess an equivalent bachelor's degree to apply for a post-graduate course. The application form would be found online and they would cost about a hundred and fifty rupees. Based on the merit list the students would be admitted to the college.

The faculty for the postgraduate course would be mostly doctorates and they would help us in our projects and research activities they want the best out of us. they would provide special attention to the students and they would give moral support to the students. They would give the utmost help in our academics.

I hate the drinking water facility because it's not there

I would rate in quite highly in terms of both relevant and competative the subjects are well aligned and current industry standards and current needs it includes both theoretical need and both practical need at the same time..

Gauhati University: A Students perspective.

Likes

The networking and the contacts that GU provides.
Exposure to various aspects. Chance of self discovery
Great environment. Loved the campus. A great place to study also the Library and canteens. Connectivity

Dislikes

Too much pressure on students in certain cases.
Very slow processing of documents by the authorities
Very delayed results of all the semester.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is an integrated course where i will be getting a masters degree after completing 5 years. Only tezpur university provides this course other than GU. The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. The exams are very well planed.

I like the infrastructure of our college.
Our college have enough rooms and halls to accommodate huge number of students
Digitalisation in teaching methods in all classrooms.

Dislikes

Toilet is still not clean as promised by our GS.
Lack of equipments in practical laboratories.
Cleanliness and hygiene are a bit off track.

The course prepares well for students as the acedemic results is always good which will make gratutides well equipped for jobs. Some sections of the course should be updated to meet the latest technology, more guests lectures and the interships should be provided to the students. The exams clustering of multiple exams should be within times which relases unneccsary stress, the exams are conducted easy to insane which is very challenging for the students.

Our department (botany) has well experienced and knowledgeable professor's who guided us both practically and theruotically which help us to gain knowledge at a faster rate
The most important thing is that our department always go for practical experience i.e.through trip.
The department often conducts seminars and guest lecturers

Dislikes

As a student of Aryavidyadpeeth college, it is very difficult to be part of our college,as the department is very popular
Due to high popularity, the college campus is very crowded, which sometimes leads to overcrowding
There is a very limited seats in hostel, the outstation students faces many difficulties to stay nearby the college.

My Overview about the College

Likes

My thoughts about my college

Likes

Faculty members of our college is very good
The thing i like that teacher in our college use projector to teach us
In our college, the students get to join various seminars, which college authorities provide us with time to time

Dislikes

The main thing which i disliked about our college is that our college campus is small if you compare it with other colleges
In our college we dont have clean toilets, and the toilets smells very bad
The next thing is that there were various construction going on in our college so for now thr college environment is healthy enough for a student to perform

As i want to appear for civil services examinations in future, so for me political science subject is helpful for my future career, in our department out faculty trach us in a decent manners, but there are some improvements needed with time

Likes

Friendly environment with a good teaching faculty.
Effective adminstration and management faculty.

Dislikes

Not many available opportunities for placement
Campus area too small along with improper sanitation facilities

Scholarly help and studying materials related to the course are provided by the college however the result are mostly based on self studying due to inefficient management by faculties. The college lacks proper workshops and programs to prepare the students for real world circumstances.

All the faculty are very learned and helpful. They make an effort and are very invested in our progress
The infrastructure is very modern with multiple laboratories and conference halls. Construction work is going on for increasing the campus area and buildings
Apart from departmental libraries, the college boasts a central library with a large collection of books, articles and journals

Dislikes

Need for a separate parking area for students
Canteen and cafeteria space should be increased
Seat capacity should be increased in the common room

The requirements for 1st semester students is to choose 7 subjects. Core subject, Minor subject, SEC (skill enhancement course), IDC (inter disciplinary course), AEC (ability enhancement course) and two compulsory VAC (value added courses) of EVS and AIS (ancient Indian studies)

I liked the overall environment of our college
My department (Geography) Faculty members are very good.
The teachers not only help in academics but also guide us for our better well-being.

Dislikes

Construction is going on in the college campus.
Though it has gain the autonomous tag still didn't get any such benefit.
The toilets are very unhygienic and have very bad odour.

Our course is very easy to understand anyone who is new to this branch or doesn't have any idea about geography can easily understand the topics through the guidance of our faculty members. They provide extra classes for better understanding of the students.

Faculty members are very helpful. They provide you with needful things.
During my PG dissertation course my mentor helped me a lot. While completing my thesis.

Dislikes

They were quite very serious about the attendance. They were not negligible towards it.
As like other departments there were favouritism which was not performed by every teacher but some among them.
Faculty was serious about cheating and does take hard steps.

Course Curriculum Overview:

They were efficient for our future. The course included creative writing, Aranslation studies, American studies, Feminist texts, British literature, Indian literature, Post colonialism and others. They helped in development of language and skills.

Good aspects The teacher are all qualified and have all good degree, The college provides all kind of scholarship for the student The campus is good 3.5/5 I would give. There are lots of student from different communities College also hosts different types of activities. They even provide free admission for waivers Bad aspects The gateman and principal don't care about the cows and dog entering inside the campuses something dog even gets inside the classroom while taking the class. They mostly don't clean the classroom. Some room is dirty and old. There is a gymnastics room but never open for us. The admission process is too long. It takes around 10 -20 days to get selection 1st student should go to the college website and then they should fill up the form and then they must submit to college after that they must pay the fee at the bank which is far from the college, Admission is taken in July and student are selected according to merit wise.
