Course Curriculum Overview

The students have to prepare for the examination which is given in the syllabus of the course and most of the papers is on ICT also and student are taught utility software also which is important from the point of view of the profession.

This course is new in this college so not every student gets the opportunity for the placement and 50% of the strength of a batch gets the placement. The college provides various job opportunities to the students in great companies related to Mass Communication.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Apart from tuition fees and admission fees the students has to pay different types of fees like for an example the fees of a hostel in total is rupees 7400 for 12 months which is bifurcated in 6 steps that is admission fees seat rent for month establishment chat electricity charge common room hostel caution deposit etc.

Campus Life

There are so many cells for the students apart from academic and student can approach to the convenor of the particular cell. The different cells are literary cell of society debate and quiz Society nature society games and sports cell fine arts and drama society etc.

Hostel Facilities

Yes there is poster facility for the students but it is proper admission procedure to off for Hotel as well. There are 4 steps to be fulfilled that are han college fee receipt proof of outstation residence relevant document of SC ST and one passport size photograph.

Admission

Before taking the admission in this college the candidate must know to three things about this course that which college offers three year degree course in mass communication but apart from it the college also offers 1 year certificate course and two year diploma course in mass communication and journalism so the student can also choose from options at the time of admission.

I would rate in quite highly in terms of both relevant and competative the subjects are well aligned and current industry standards and current needs it includes both theoretical need and both practical need at the same time..

Gauhati University: A Students perspective.

Likes

The networking and the contacts that GU provides.
Exposure to various aspects. Chance of self discovery
Great environment. Loved the campus. A great place to study also the Library and canteens. Connectivity

Dislikes

Too much pressure on students in certain cases.
Very slow processing of documents by the authorities
Very delayed results of all the semester.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is an integrated course where i will be getting a masters degree after completing 5 years. Only tezpur university provides this course other than GU. The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. The exams are very well planed.

I like the infrastructure of our college.
Our college have enough rooms and halls to accommodate huge number of students
Digitalisation in teaching methods in all classrooms.

Dislikes

Toilet is still not clean as promised by our GS.
Lack of equipments in practical laboratories.
Cleanliness and hygiene are a bit off track.

The course prepares well for students as the acedemic results is always good which will make gratutides well equipped for jobs. Some sections of the course should be updated to meet the latest technology, more guests lectures and the interships should be provided to the students. The exams clustering of multiple exams should be within times which relases unneccsary stress, the exams are conducted easy to insane which is very challenging for the students.

Our department (botany) has well experienced and knowledgeable professor's who guided us both practically and theruotically which help us to gain knowledge at a faster rate
The most important thing is that our department always go for practical experience i.e.through trip.
The department often conducts seminars and guest lecturers

Dislikes

As a student of Aryavidyadpeeth college, it is very difficult to be part of our college,as the department is very popular
Due to high popularity, the college campus is very crowded, which sometimes leads to overcrowding
There is a very limited seats in hostel, the outstation students faces many difficulties to stay nearby the college.

My thoughts about my college

Likes

Faculty members of our college is very good
The thing i like that teacher in our college use projector to teach us
In our college, the students get to join various seminars, which college authorities provide us with time to time

Dislikes

The main thing which i disliked about our college is that our college campus is small if you compare it with other colleges
In our college we dont have clean toilets, and the toilets smells very bad
The next thing is that there were various construction going on in our college so for now thr college environment is healthy enough for a student to perform

As i want to appear for civil services examinations in future, so for me political science subject is helpful for my future career, in our department out faculty trach us in a decent manners, but there are some improvements needed with time

Friendly environment with a good teaching faculty.
Effective adminstration and management faculty.

Not many available opportunities for placement
Campus area too small along with improper sanitation facilities

Scholarly help and studying materials related to the course are provided by the college however the result are mostly based on self studying due to inefficient management by faculties. The college lacks proper workshops and programs to prepare the students for real world circumstances.

All the faculty are very learned and helpful. They make an effort and are very invested in our progress
The infrastructure is very modern with multiple laboratories and conference halls. Construction work is going on for increasing the campus area and buildings
Apart from departmental libraries, the college boasts a central library with a large collection of books, articles and journals

Dislikes

Need for a separate parking area for students
Canteen and cafeteria space should be increased
Seat capacity should be increased in the common room

The requirements for 1st semester students is to choose 7 subjects. Core subject, Minor subject, SEC (skill enhancement course), IDC (inter disciplinary course), AEC (ability enhancement course) and two compulsory VAC (value added courses) of EVS and AIS (ancient Indian studies)

I liked the overall environment of our college
My department (Geography) Faculty members are very good.
The teachers not only help in academics but also guide us for our better well-being.

Dislikes

Construction is going on in the college campus.
Though it has gain the autonomous tag still didn't get any such benefit.
The toilets are very unhygienic and have very bad odour.

Our course is very easy to understand anyone who is new to this branch or doesn't have any idea about geography can easily understand the topics through the guidance of our faculty members. They provide extra classes for better understanding of the students.

Faculty members are very helpful. They provide you with needful things.
During my PG dissertation course my mentor helped me a lot. While completing my thesis.

Dislikes

They were quite very serious about the attendance. They were not negligible towards it.
As like other departments there were favouritism which was not performed by every teacher but some among them.
Faculty was serious about cheating and does take hard steps.

They were efficient for our future. The course included creative writing, Aranslation studies, American studies, Feminist texts, British literature, Indian literature, Post colonialism and others. They helped in development of language and skills.

Good aspects The teacher are all qualified and have all good degree, The college provides all kind of scholarship for the student The campus is good 3.5/5 I would give. There are lots of student from different communities College also hosts different types of activities. They even provide free admission for waivers Bad aspects The gateman and principal don't care about the cows and dog entering inside the campuses something dog even gets inside the classroom while taking the class. They mostly don't clean the classroom. Some room is dirty and old. There is a gymnastics room but never open for us. The admission process is too long. It takes around 10 -20 days to get selection 1st student should go to the college website and then they should fill up the form and then they must submit to college after that they must pay the fee at the bank which is far from the college, Admission is taken in July and student are selected according to merit wise.
