Remarks

Management of the college was really good they had provided us with good course material, nice infrastructure to study.

Entrance Preview

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

There are 4 courses available pre sea or G P Rating DNS-Diploma in nautical science B.Sc nautical science diploma in marine engineering, marine engineering.

Internships Opportunities

None because college does not provide internship do there is no point of having any experience of the college internship i wish they would start it as it really benefits students.

Placement Experience

0.5

There were no placements provided the time i was in the college but now have heard that they have started providing job placements in good companies such as dynacom tankers, anglo eastern and many more.

College Events

3.5

Navy day-we celebrate navy day every year on 4th december independence day, Republic day, sports day includes ground games such as football, volleyball, basketball, cricket etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

U have to pay the course fee before starting the course for 1st semester and similarly you have to pay your fees for rest of the semesters there are total six semesters the fees changes every year so can't tell exact fee amount.

Fees and Financial Aid

None they don't offer any scholarships to any students and about loan yes they provide education loan to the students at very lower interest rate.

Campus Life

Campus life was really very good and very competitive at the very same time in both academics and sports and other activities parties were not allowed in the hostel no there was no discrimination in any religion.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel accommodation was really good there were right amount of bathrooms and toilets, and they were kept very hygienic but mess food quality wasn't up to the mark.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

No alumni networks were created, but alumni network is not that good as no one really cares about maintaining it and one keeps in touch thru it so i would say it wasn't good at all.

girls to boys ratio is 1:1 is we consider all three branches with some courses with more male while other having for female.more or less the ratio is near 1:1
the most important thing for you is there is close to zero discrimination for you , whether you want to join any club or perform anything you are equivalent to students with others bachelor degree
octagon and library are the two things which are good as library is considered the biggest library among all nit's while octagon having 800 computers for students.NSO ground is also well maintained with the beautiful mig fighter jet to take cool phot

Dislikes

for first years hostel are well maintained if compared with others but don't expect much from hostel atlast this is a government college.in first year 3 to 4 person sharing room are there which was build to carry 2 person.
Quant and entrepreneur thing is not there as you might expect by seeing the nirf 9 ranking but it is not zero .they are growing clubs like profNITT and Sigma are young and they could do better
curfew timing for girls are 9 or 9:30 pm i guess be it any year. for boys ,only freshers have curfew with timing 9:30 pm.other than that any student can't step outside the college after 10 pm without the sign out form.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as maths is the mother of all science and quite related to other fields so it opens a lot of door for me like mba ,mtech ,phd or any other things. this course is specifically designed for becoming teachers so keep that in mind before taking this course as they are not flexible in changing curriculum or adding something for the sake of students as of now. also you will be having more working days compared to other courses with 80 percent mandatory attendance.after first sem you will get 1 week holiday and after 2nd sem you will get 50.days holiday and after first year you can expect 20 days holiday for winters and 50 days holiday for summers. you will get a lot of time to study for exams. before ct 1 you can expect 2 months and then atleast a month for ct 2 and endsems. cons are that you don't have the right to choose minor or electives like btech students.you have to compulsory study all three science .i.e. maths , physics, chemistry.

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.
