Entrance Preview
I took Common Entrance Examinations conducted exclusively for my course by the Department of Media Sciences. The entrance examination will test general awareness, basic numerical ability, scientific knowledge and english proficiency. There are many books available for this particular syllabus in market.
Internships Opportunities
As per the course curriculum, I have to do two internship. One is at the end of first year and it is summer internship. I did that in a PR organisation "Accolade Public Relations." It was not a paid internship but that was a great learning experience.
College Events
Anna University is the most happening college in town. It has various inter as well as intra college festivals, symposiums and competitions. Each department organises it on numerous occasions. 100s of events will be organised every year. The most famous and prominent event among all is Techofes, Pinnacle, Gateway, Kurukshetra.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees for my particular course is on a higher note compared to the regular courses, reason being self-financed category. I paid 25000 per semester, 100000 for two years. Apart from the regular fees, examination fees will come around 1500 per semester (300 per paper).
Fees and Financial Aid
CEG offers many scholarships for SC/ST, MBC, BC and Minority students. Self-financed students are not eligible to apply except SC/ST students.Loans are offered to self-financed students by State Bank of India, which is within the college premises. I applied for the loan for my college fee at the beginning of my course and was approved, considering my poor background.
Alumni/Alumna
CEG, Anna University has a huge alumni network. They have excellent industrial contacts. Every students are asked to join the alumni network during their final year. I used to contact my seniors for internships. My summer internships was due to the contacts given by the seniors.
