The management could make some improvement to make the campus life more colourful.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college comes under APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University or KTU, which has a curriculum that covers most of the relevant detailed concepts required for each course. The teachings are purely curriculum based. The students are also guided to various research oppertunities.

Students get a lot of campus placements where the college provided necessary training for aptitude and guide through different stages.

College Events

The college celebrates the festival of onam in a grand way. Also annual sport meets are hosted in every odd semester. Arts and tech days are organised in the even semesters. Arts day consist of 2 days were student get to portray their talents. College tech fest also help in students to transform the college to a platform of technical events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The institution has different fee structures. The students who had scored KEAM rank below 5000 and good grade for maths in 12th will only need to pay the tution fee of 8500?. Students who portrayed best performance in 12th and KEAM can get a fair offer.

Fees and Financial Aid

I had more than 95% for my 12th. So during the admission process, the college gave me the scholarship where I only needed to pay 8500 rupees as my tution fee and some additional amount.

Campus Life

I would say the campus life is a little less. Since the teaching pattern at college is mostly curriculum driven, more concentration is given to studies. Gender ratio is almost in balance. The lab facilities are also excellent with skilled lab instructors, required instrument and also computer facilities. The college also has different student chapters operating, college band and dance groups and different sport teams and athletic group.

Hostel Facilities

No. I didn't opt the hostel facility. But the hostel services are quite good. Each room is shared by 4 students. The hostel provides the students with a spacious mess, TV room, internet facility, physical training, etc.

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Alumni/Alumna

Since the college has only a passout history of 4 batches, the alumni network is on a building stage.

Admission

The college takes in account of the 12th maths grade and KEAM score and classify different fee structure for the students interested. If the grade is more than 95 and KEAM rank is less than 5000, students can persue their btech here with a tution fee of 8500. Rest of the info is available at the college's officialil website.

The institution has a resourced faculty team for each department. Most of the faculty do a great deal when it comes to teaching. The faculty help the students at different levels not only at education but also as mentors. The faculty are very friendly.

Likes

The campus is well maintained and is clean
Teachers are willing to give individual attention if needed
Above average food is provided in canteen

Dislikes

Lack of campus life as college is strict
Majority of the staff members are the type to hold a grudge against you
Spoon feeding students and not allowing them to think and improvise accordingly

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from semester 6 onwards. But campus placement for civil engineering is fairly low. But companies like Aarbee Structures Pvt Ltd has offered jobs for my mates

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

Is engineering here worth it?

Likes

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year,project phases.
Fests,events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

There are a lot of assignment often for the students

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.
