Remarks

BCM College is a women's college and is located in the center of Kottayam district. The College, in every sense, offers the best education for the students. Results are very good for the students and the institution also shapes the future of students in a better way. It aims at educating the women and offering them independence.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course syllabus is made by MG University. Examinations are semester based and internal exams are also there. The faculties are very friendly and talented. They provide us with the best education. Dr. Teena Anna Thomas, faculty of the Department of English is one of the best teachers in BCM.

Class Size: 21Course Fees: INR 1500 per year

Placement Experience

Placement Cell in the college works effectively. More than 10 companies visit annually for recruitment process. The highest package has been up to 65 LPA. Many talented students gain better placements. A number of students also join for higher education soon after completing the degree course.

College Events

The campus life is too good here in BCM College. There are many events organised by the college. Special occasions are celebrated in a grand way with many programs. Students are given chance to express their talents. Intercollegiate fests are annually organised with a lot of participants.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarship facilities for the students. Post matric minority scholarship, University merit scholarship and Suvarna Jubilee Merit scholarship are the important scholarship facilities. Other than that, there are Grants to the deserving students. SC/ST/OBC students are provided with enough Grants.

Campus Life

BCM College is provided with best infrastructures. The college library is well maintained with more than about 54000 books and a lot of journals. Library is computerized with e-cataloging. There are sports facilities, medical facilities, Gymnasium, cafeteria, a large auditorium and canteen.

Experiences so far

Likes

My experience at lissah has been mixing of challenges. Psychology depart has supportive teachers and classes is good
Campus is peaceful and it’s so greenery there are opportunities to take part in different academics
I also like that the psychology department has its own lab and practical exposure and Lissah is well known for psychology itself

Dislikes

I feel that there could be more programmes activities and opportunities for students to make college life
Location could feel like quiet and it’s not in town area
Those who prefer more active atmosphere I would not recommend here

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose bsc psychology because I was interested in understanding human behaviour. The curriculum covers different areas of psychology along with subjects such as major psychology minor statistics and physiology then English mdc . Since I am still in my first year I have only experienced the initial part of course

The campus is well maintained and is clean
Teachers are willing to give individual attention if needed
Above average food is provided in canteen

Dislikes

Lack of campus life as college is strict
Majority of the staff members are the type to hold a grudge against you
Spoon feeding students and not allowing them to think and improvise accordingly

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from semester 6 onwards. But campus placement for civil engineering is fairly low. But companies like Aarbee Structures Pvt Ltd has offered jobs for my mates

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

BCM: A Dream College

This college was my first priority in the application. This college provides equal opportunity for curricular and co-curricular activities. I applied to the colleges such as Baselius College, Kottayam, CMS College Kottayam, St. Mary's College Manarcadu etc. I got confirmed admission at this college itself which was my first priority. I didn't got rejected from any colleges. I got admission at my first priority colleges itself. Nothing went wrong. The admission process is through MGUCAP. The admission is given based on merit. The admission is given to merit seats, cultural sports quota, reservation quota, community quota and management quota. There is no entrance exam for the admission. The admission is given on the basis of the marks scored in the Higher Secondary Examinations. The admission is conducted in easy and transparent way....Read More

Excellent - BCM

I got admission in the merit seat. Who is Category Based. I got admission in the 1st allotment as I was with So Mark. The fee was not much and it was 2500rs. Admission started in July 2018. The admission process is all excellent. I did not have to experience any difficulty there. A good atmosphere was what I felt when I went to college. The class started 1 week after admission. Class everything is superb. The course I am taking here is Botany. Is my favorite subject. I got the same in the 1st allotment. Class teachers behave in a very friendly manner. Therefore, I did not have to suffer any hardship. The reservation seat was mine. So the fees were all very low. There is an extra fee for uniforms and labs. That too is a small amount. There is a lot to be said for college. 3 Years of College Experience is one that will never be forgotten in life. The course is good. There are a lot of good job opportunities if you study botany. MSC will be better. Doing MSc will increase the chances....Read More
