Good College

Mainly the hostels are the issue. The girls have a very bleak curfew, whereas the boys have none whatsoever. All top colleges provide suitable curfews to all genders. So this is where it mainly lacks. But the faculties are very good, and helpful. So that's the best part.

GBU has it's own university exam. My rank was below 2000.I had heard good reviews about the university. Also, I was actually fascinated by the infrastructure of the college. The classrooms were fully equipped and so were the labs in the workshop. That is why I enrolled in to it.

It was a well crafted curriculum, which helped me learn a lot in a gradual manner. It wasn't over burdening, and was taught in a informative way. The B.tech and M.tech subjects were well incorporated in the 5 year course. Overall I had no problem with the course curriculum or syllabus.

In my department there were no internships provided by the college. However, in the BBA & MBA department internships were provided. Stipend was offered by a few of the internships.

Placements are fine in the School of Management. The rest of the departments have low placements opportunities. The average package of the few companies that come is low, but it has increased slightly when the first B.Tech batch has passed. The CRC department is responsible for placements and job opportunities.

We have Shaurya Utsav (Sports Event), Abhivyanjana (Cultural Fest) and other small events here and there such as Diwali Mela, October Fest etc.We have world class sports facilities and a gigantic state-of-the-art auditorium. So both the Sports and Cultural Fest is a big thing on our campus.

It is little expensive for a government college. But looking at the campus and infrastructure it's justifiable. The labs are well equipped and the hostel is also very good.The fee structure this year has amounted to Rs. 1,30,500 (84,000 tution fee).

Our university comes under an yearly scholarship offered by the UP government. It's terms are along the lines that the families of students, which have a yearly income of less than 1.5 lakh per annum (approx. idea) get around 40% of the fee reimbursed.

Campus life is overall okay. The hostel timings for the girls is very bleak however, which is big negative. There is great diversity and we have students from all over the country (mainly northern part).The labs are well equipped and functioning. We have several events and workshops going around each department at various times.

The hostel facilities are top notch. Each student (whether girl or boy) has a single room. The rooms are equipped with a book shelf, table, chair, bed, cup board and balcony. Two hostels share a mess. The mess food is good, with a weekly menu that tries to cover all sorts of cuisines.

My seniors were helpful. It was easy to approach them when needed. They would give us their exam papers, which helped us prepare for the exams better.

The gaps between consecutive exams was very little. So in that way it became rather hectic. There was hardly any time to prepare.The lab exams were good though. We got plenty of time to prepare for them. We have good practical labs, and got proper time between each practical exam.

Faculty of college was very good. They were supportive and always there to guide me. It was easy to approach them, and they clarified even the small doubts.Our teachers are all post graduates from excellent colleges, so it helped to get such good exposure.
