Remarks

Fees structure is affordable ie 5430 per year. Besides this it is one of the reputed evening colleges in kolkata where regular classes are being held by qualified teachers and recently the college is focusing on extra curriculum activities. Overall the college timings and a healthy atmosphere irrespective of the gender of the students make this college a perfect pick if you're looking for an evening college. The location is also a factor to maintain a good attendance percentage. It is located near Gariahat.

Course Curriculum Overview

Syllabus was the same as appointed by Calcutta University which focuses on all topics like Business, Information Technology, Statistics, Economics (Macro & Micro), Costing, Taxation, Accountancy etc etc There is no such industrial exposure. Commerce faculty and arts faculty are available here. Out of which commerce faculty is more renowned between the two.

Absolutely fun, moreover it is balanced life with fun and studies as well. College hosts freshers for new students every year. A social and an annual sports function along with seasonal picnics and trips which you shouldn't miss.

Campus Life

Wifi is obviously provided in the faculty along with a small ground where u can play football cricket volleyball & badminton. A common room is provided for indoor games like carrom & table tennis. Library is a great place to visit if you're a silent reader. Therese is no lab as there is no science faculty. And the class rooms and the building presents its historic value. The classes are complemented by its unique big sized windows which welcomes fresh air into the rooms.

Likes

One of the things i liked the most was the quality of lecture given by the professors
The campus is very spacious the college has every facility
A fully equipted studio and lab for Journalism students

Dislikes

Things i disliked was the most has to be the locality the college is really nice but the locality is a bit shady

I always wanted to take up Journalism as a career and the thing which caught my attention in this college is that they have a fully equipted studio room and other colleges may have one but the students even publish there own news report here it prepars us very well for the real world

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

The everyday journey

Likes

I liked the campus . Their people and faculties are too great , they are also helpfull
The other thing i liked here is the play ground where students play with full of their energy and many game events are organised ocationally
The other thing i liked is the library where everyone use to study silently with poking others

Dislikes

Bad benches , like benches are too small to be fitted in our class I
In our department ac doesn’t work properly

Faculties are helpful and kind and the classroom environment is healthy
Classroom, labs and libraries have proper infrastructure
Certificates are provided for participating in conferences or extracurricular activities

Placement is provided in final year . Average package offered is 3 to 4 lpa . Paid internship is provided in 3rd year and the placement percentage is more or less ok. After complication i will either pursue Msc or look for a job.

Likes

The campus is big and full of greenery with the vibrant feel of nature.
The students of the same batch are friendly and helpful.
The teacher's are friendly and helpful. They do provide helpful recommendations for the betterment of your future.

Dislikes

The seniors are overly harsh when it comes to 1st year.
The infrastructure could be worked on. The college lacks renovation.
The hostel does require everyday cleaning and renovation as well as the campus.

Placement Experience:

I don't know much about this but I guess from the sixth semester the students are eligible for campus placements. This year a student from AEIE got a package of 11.2 lacs per annum and the average is around 4 lacs per annum.

Likes

The faculties are very good and very active. They are always ready to help
Campus is very beautiful and nice. Campus may be a little bit smaller but it is beautiful.
Environment is very good. And have a natural's beauty

Dislikes

Location is a thing which may difficult to find out.
Number of faculties are small quantity due to the college is newly established
Because of the college is new so therefore not huge like any NIT or IIT

After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. There many service based companies visited like TCS ,Cognizant, wipro, Infosys. Almost 60-70% student placed in on campus. Highest package offered by TCS 9-10lpa and Cognizant 6-7lpa wipro 6-7lpa infosys 10lpa etc. 60-70% student getting placement I will go for placement

Placement Experience:

The University Provides Placements options for the students from the 3rd Semester onwards. For the Department of Geography Companies like - GeoDesign and Research PVT. Limited, Wipro, Acadecraft Pvt limited, Cactus etc. are there as recruiters with an average package of 3 LPA. University takes a target to 100 % placement among then almost 60% are placed and rest of the students mainly go to the research field.

The Eligibilty Of the course is you have to be 12th pass. After That you need to fill up the admission form when college release it on thier offical website in my time in 2022 there was no application fees i am not aware of it now. After Admission Form may be few days or weeks college will release merit list first,second or third.. so on till seats are left once you get your name in merit list you need to pay the fees and take the receipt printout as its very important when you get first time in college take it with you 2 copies of it may be helpful on your innitial days of your college. After Payment wait when college release the date of you first day in college remember to take the receipt of payment you made. Exploring College Life: Unveiling the Prafulla Chandra Experience

Well there wasn't any as such entrance exam in our college(Prafulla Chandra College). Admission forms were distributed in the college portal and we had to chenk and fill it up. We had to mention our 10th and 12th grade with best of 4 marks. The eligibility criteria was to have atleast 40 marks(H.S) in the subject in which honours is to be taken. Rather than that we must have had atleast 40 marks in the language paper(H.S). We had to attach our marksheets of 10th and 12th board exam as .jpeg format. The fees of B.COM Hons. is 5500/- yearly basis. For B.COM General is around 5000/- yearly. After 12th examamination college updates its application form and uploard it in the college portal. Rather than B.COM we've B.A and B.SC streams too. Students can select their language in the 1st semester only i.e, english/bengali. Sice it's a night college, attendence is not an issue.
