I don't want to put any bad remarks about my Alma Mater however i can suggest some things like the infrastructure can be developed a bit to compete in line with private universities which boast about great buildings and hostel facilities.
College management should focus on quality and taste of food serve and should also increase the time limit one can spend out of the college. As we do have coaching so 7 pm is too early for us. Overall college is good and I feel lucky to have myself in it . I think collegespeak should personally give me a call I really have some good suggestions.
My college is one of national level college and it's a 6th number of college for MCA, It is a great IT college.
The placement situation can be improved, else the college is pretty good.
Of course B.tech is a new chapter of everyone's life but you cannot read it to full extent unless you join NIT DGP.
The National Institute of Technology, Durgapur [NITDGP] is a public engineering college located at Durgapur in Bardhaman district of West Bengal. Formerly known as Regional Engineering College, it was founded by Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, the then chief minister of West Bengal in 1960. Today it is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology in India and has been recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. In July 2003, the institution was granted Deemed University status with the approval of the UGC/AICTE and was renamed National Institute of Technology, Durgapur.
The placement office facilitates students in securing placements. The placement cell provides all the necessary facilities for the placement and interacts with over 150 industries in the country. Institute has performed quite well in 2013 placement season and placed 485 (approx.) students effortlessly.

Facilities: NITDGP receives funding of about Rs. 500 million per year from the GOI. The institute provides all world class academic as well as other facilities to its students. The facilities provided at the institute are as follows-
The institute has a high-voltage laboratory, the sixth of its kind in the world and the first in India. There are specialized faculty members and skilled staff members in the fields of high-voltage and high-power engineering.
The library has a collection of 1.5lac volumes which includes text books, reference books & bound volumes of journals, standards etc and subscribes to about 180 current journals. The book database is accessible through OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue).
The whole Institute including the Students' Hostels and the residential area of the Faculty is connected by a campus wide LAN using high speed Fiber Optic/UTP cables.
The Institute has a dedicated 54 Mbps (34 Mbps BSNL+ 20 Mbps Reliance Com) 24X7 Internet Connectivity, which serves the Institute Internet needs.
The Institute has a full-fledged Physical Training Department for the students. Two playing grounds – the Lord's and the Oval are for outdoor activities like cricket, football and hockey. There are courts for volleyball, basketball and lawn tennis. There is a badminton court present in each hostel.
There is a medical unit-cum-hospital with arrangement for both indoor and outdoor treatment of the patients. The medical unit is served by two resident doctors and other medical staff around the clock. For any specialized treatment the patients are referred to the state government hospital situated at the other end of the city.
