My Experience as student at CU

Currently, I am a student of the first year at Chandigarh University in BSc (CS). So I am the best person to give a review. Good things about Chandigarh University is, Excellent infrastructure and the most important thing is it is growing day by day. No ragging, I saw a single ragging case as I am the first year student. One the other hand, seniors are very supportive. A student from all over India even some students are from a foreign country in my class. Faculty is very supportive. They provide placement oriented guidance. Different events and workshops are organized from time to time. Hostel facility is also good but a little expensive I think. Few cons not bad but need improvement: Some time teacher focuses more on assignments and lab file work instead of giving practical knowledge. Yes, written work is also important but it can be improved. The University is a little bit expensive but that is not much matter, they are giving that much facilities too. but it can be improved.

I am interested in coding from class 10th that's why I choose BSc Computer Science. The teachers are perfect. They give us practical knowledge about subjects curriculum is very industry-oriented which leads to good placements. Many proffers are done PhD in their field. Some facilities are researcher also in their field. We have two mid-semester term exams (MST) in a semester and then semester final exam. Exams are not much difficult if you study properly in-class lectures but if you are bunking the class and not studying then it becomes a problem for you.

Yes, there are a lot of opportunities in Chandigarh University for an internship they do get an internship in the University itself but if you want to intern in some other external companies University provides you with no objection certificate. Some internships are offered by top MNC's on the campus such as Infosys, Microsoft, Tech Mahindra.

Yes, placements are much good, you are going to get a fair chance at major MNC's like Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, Dell, Nokia, Wipro. The average package offered by companies in my course is around 4.5-5 LPA. The highest package offered in engineering is 31.77 LPA. In Management highest package is 14 LPA. In Hotel Management the highest package is 12LPA. The minimum package offered is around 3LPA. Over 500 placement offers from more than 50 MNC's. Many students from the department of engineering were placed in a company like Tata technologies, reliance industries, Godrej, Jindal and may more.

Fees are a lit bit more I feel but they are too providing that much facilities. My course fee for one semester is 35000 rupees and also 2000 examination fee each semester but they are also providing scholarship if you score well in their entrance exam CUCET which held every year.

Yes, at Chandigarh University you have a lot of fests and the best fest is the celebrities and Punjabi singers come there to do entertainment and students from all over the country showcase there talent and students of CU also participate in the competitions. It provides a stage for you to show your talent. Every year Chandigarh University organize: International youth fest- CU RYTHM, Media Fest, National Literary Fest, Punjabi Youth Fest and there are many events and workshops are organised by the societies clubs there.
