Placements of B.Sc. Airlines and Airport Management are good, airlines like Virgin Atlantic, Indigo and Spicejet visit the campus and the highest package offered for this program was 18 LPA in 2020.
Course Curriculum Overview
Personally, I have always a keen interest in airport management and I wanted to be a flight attendant, so this is the only reason I chose to pursue B.Sc. Airlines are Airport Management at Chandigarh University. The faculty of the Airlines Department are well skilled and have experience in the aviation sector. There are around 70 students in one class/section which is further divided into two groups for practical classes. So, for theory lectures, there is one teacher with over 70 students and in practical sessions, there is one teacher with over 30-35 students. Undoubtedly, faculty members are well qualified and experienced but teaching method may vary from teacher to teacher, some are quite good and some are average. Each semester has 2 midterm examinations and final term examinations and the difficulty level is somewhat moderate.
Internships Opportunities
Chandigarh University offers internship opportunities to their students with NOC in various hotels and airlines companies such as Oberoi Group of Hotels, Indigo and Cox and Kings. Sometimes, they provide you internships with stipends and sometimes you have to bear your expenses. Internship and placements drives are for 3rd-year students only.
Placement Experience
CU being a private university and established in 2012, made its records of placements quite good in the last 6 years. The highest package offered was 18 LPA by Virgin Atlantic Airlines in 2020. The average packages range from 4 LPA to 6 LPA. And the lowest package offered at Chandigarh University is 3 LPA in B.Sc. Airlines and Airport Management. Airlines such as Indigo, Spicejet, Virgin Atlantic, Vistara and Jet airways visit the campus during the placement drives. And around 80% of students are placed here. Personally, I will be participating in the placement drives after getting the degree and most preferably I will go for international airlines like Virgin Atlantic or Qatar Airways due to high income for sure.
Fees and Financial Aid
Each semester has a fee of INR 35,000 with an examination fee of INR 2000 and also there is a security payment (that is one time) INR 2000.
