Remarks

In this college, the atmosphere is good and clean also, and there has no ragging because of no ragging commitee. Faculties in our college are very good in teaching and send ebook materials also, our faculty teach in to simplify the way to understand the concept. Our lab is so good and all instruments and materials for practices are available, faculty are good in support in specific intrest in doing experiments. In our college conduct a lot of programs and distribute certificate. In our college bus fees are very low to compare with another college, this also a reason for prefering this college The bad aspect is its like a school sometimes In our college has placement drive with a lot of company average CTC is 1.6l per anum

Course Curriculum Overview

This course is a very special course and this course available in only two colleges in Tamilnadu. This course has a lot of job opportunities in the future and abroad. And also this course gives a lot of option to do postgraduate Our faculty are mostly doctrate only and they are so good in teaching. They teach very simple to understand concepts. They send ebooks and simplified materials for the exam is very helpful to score good marks

In our college placement is conducted by ncpir. They maintain every department in the WhatsApp group and update information about interviews instantly. There are more than 20 companies visited it include amazon,episource, Tech Mahindra. The highest package offered by the company is 6l per annum an average of 1.7l per annum. A lot of students attend sincerely in placement drive and also get an offer.

Fees and Financial Aid

In our college fees is average to compare another college. In odd sem 25k and even sem 20k fees Bus fees are below 7k Yes, in our college has scholarships for good marks scored students. Most of the students get an offer in campus placement with an average ctc 1.5 l above per anum

Campus Life

In our college conduct annual fest in dec month 2 days festember and fantabulous. In that, they conduct a lot of programs and provide lunch also. They celebrate Onam, Christmas and Pongal very grandly. In our college library has all books if suppose there not have any book they provide online book from a library computer.

Interview Experience

No there has no written exam for admission. They conduct an interview and ask about my schooling studies and why am i choose this course I don't prepare for that Admission fees 5k we need to pay on admission in the corporate office in kuniyamuthur

Likes

They allow all cultural events.They also conduct events in the college

They increase penalty if students dont pay the sem fees on time then they also increase the exam fees from sem to sem

Life in HIMT

Likes

With regards to training and placements the college is very good . All training as per DGMA and IMU is strictly followed and the placements for B.Sc is 90% and above . The faculties and instructors in the college are well experienced and skilled.
The college is strict regarding alcohol and smoking and it is not allowed inside campus and regular alcohol checks are conducted . Discipline and safety is the first priority for the college.
Classrooms are air conditioned. Hostel rooms are good . Any defects in rooms or any places inside college which are addressed are rectified.

Dislikes

College doesn't conduct inter college events . Internal events are very less . The few events conducted in college has also many restrictions.
Galley food can be better . College canteen is not good

Placement Experience:

The placements for B.Sc Nautical science in HIMT is 90% and above . The placement drive usually starts in the 2nd year (4th semester) and for girls 1st year (2nd semester). The companies which usually come for placements in my college are MOLMI,MOLTA, ZODIAC,SANMAR,GENCO, ONESEA etc ... The package for cadets differ from company to company and type of vessel.

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

LIFE IN HIMT COLLEGE

Likes

System and the Rules followed in this college
Hierarchy system such as committe heads, cadet captains etc
Infrastructure mainly the football and cricket turf

Dislikes

Punishments, because you will get punished when one of your batchmate did anything wrong
Compared to other colleges himt is not celebrating that much for festivals
Regular musters, You will have to attend minimum 3 muster a day

Placement Experience:

I am placed in MOLMI. And sincerely thank HIMT for the placement. The other companies who Recruits cadets from HIMT are Zodiac, MOLTA, Sanmar, Genco, Ozler ONE shipping etc . HIMT have good placement records of 100%, if you have no arrears then for sure will get placed

THE IDEAL COLLEGE LIFE!

Likes

The opportunities to meet new people and interact with a whole new circle of people by Club Activities as there are quite a lot of clubs according to the student's interest.
Many places to showcase our singing and dancing talent once we join the club or take part in any of the department events.
They have multiple labs for a single department so that the students get a lot of hands on training for coding and as well as hardware.

Dislikes

4:3 Ratio of Girls to Boys in my class and i hope it's the same for all the departments as well.
The college timing can go from 8:30 AM to 5:10PM.
The 75% attendance is kind of doable and maintainable to an extent.

Placement Experience:

about 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed afdter the colleg and the ones not placed also gets placed after the college with high network and communication from other contacts within the college, ZOHO Corp does take placements and i am preparing for my CAT exams as i am planning for My highers at IIM, 5th semester is when the students become eligible for the campus placements and the seniors are a good connection who help to get places and get a job after the completion of degree.

Nothing much but have got some friends you fall into this pit exactl like me

Dislikes

Hostel , mess food and mess hall , no facilities for marine practical

Course Curriculum Overview:

Teaching methods of marine faculties are excellent but in my course they add some additional subject like tamil and hindi which are useless and no neede for a mariner as the marine faculties are good in teaching and explaining but they also having difficulty in teaching as the requirements didn't meet from the college management
