Swami Shukdevanand Post Graduage College Shahjahanpur, Bachelor in Arts (Economics)

Reviewed on May 22, 2021(Enrolled 2020)

Remarks

I always wanted to be an economist. Then, one day I heard about this college, someone said to me that it's too good for economics and I've searched about it and found it good for my further studies. Then I applied here for admission. The admission process is totally online. Admission is merit based. For B.A. Economics last year's cutoff marks were 66.5? College is situated at a place where we can study well. Here is an environment which helps to study. The faculty is too good. If you want to take admission here, just go for it.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

When we talk about Economics, I always wanted to choose a college where I can fulfil my dream to become an economist, this college helping me a lot. About 50+ professors are there in the Faculty of S.Sc. All are PhD holder. The college conducts sessional and annual exam which helps to improve yourselves.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 1600 per year

Placement Experience

4.5

By completing graduation from this college students are eligible for jobs. The average monthly package is 60000 rs. It means 7.5 lakhs annual. 90% of students get placements. After finishing my graduation I'll prepare for the civil services examination.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is too low as compare to other colleges. The total fee can be refunded as a scholarship. Here you can learn many skills while studying. Many cultural programs are held here. If You are searching for a college that can help you grow your personality, just go for it.

Campus Life

Every year college organizes many fests. Fresher's party, Annual Fest and all. Here is a very big library and all books are available here. As there are many faculties, this college library is also managed in a way where students can get any book for free to read it.

Perspective as a VCW student

Likes

Facility and infrastructure is really good . In facility we get good internet connection e.g , talking about labs too , we get well equipped class and materials needed for the test , sometimes it may be bit defective aur old.
Teachers are the best things about this college. Course curriculum are designed in the way that you cover everything about the topic infact , sec , aec courses are also designed in students favour only .
The campus area and environment is good too , you may find the campus area small but it's really beautiful and peaceful , there is gym , canteen , ground with basketball and badminton court . You may not get the top notch facility but its not worse.

Dislikes

The first thing could be interior and mangement of washrooms. Canteen could be more better and provide more options . In summer , other than library we get no other sitting area , except the open classroom which are in tolerable in heat.
The bus management is worse too, I left the bus service because of their management.
The fests are not worse but could be organized in more better way .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I personally find the curriculum to be well made and in favour wit the students. In teaching methods , the subjects that demand practical exposure should be given tasks to be conducted on the real life situation, like the opportunity we get during internship . They should provide task like that .

Great learning environment, experienced faculty, and value for money education.

Likes

The faculty members are very supportive, highly experienced, and always ready to help students with their queries.
The course fee is extremely affordable and provides great value for money for students in this region.
The campus has a peaceful learning environment with a good gender ratio of around 1:1 for boys and girls.

Dislikes

On-campus placement opportunities are limited, and students mostly need to look for off-campus jobs.
Campus infrastructure needs modernization, including better Wi-Fi access and updated lab equipment.
More practical exposure and industry-oriented training programs should be added to the curriculum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers all essential topics required for higher studies. The curriculum is detailed and helps build strong subject basics. Teaching methods are traditional, so adding more interactive sessions and skill-based learning would be a great improvement. Exams take place every semester along with internal class tests, which helps in continuous evaluation without extra stress

THE OXFORD OF THE EAST

Likes

The fees is affordable in comparison to Delhi University.
The scholarship scheme is definitely helpful for those who are economically weak.
The main campus has a central library so its quite helpful

Dislikes

The books in the central library are quite outdated
The lack of infrastructure in the affiliated colleges of AU
No merit based scholarship scheme available for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm from humanities background so the course is quite relevant for me. The course is quite outdated however it's the same for most of the universities. the curriculum should be aligned with the competitive exams and the teaching methods should be more inclusive about the competitive exams so that the student can prepare well not only for the present course but also further upcoming exams.
