Remarks
In 2019, I gave two entrance exams JEE Mains and UPSEE. I got 8000 ranks in UPSEE and around 420 marks at that time so wanted to get into a decent engineering college and preferably a Computer Science related branch. I got an IT branch in the KIET Group of Institutions via counselling. I also tried for JSS Noida but I was getting ECE there so I prefered doing BTech IT from KIET. I also applied for Manipal University and VIT though I was eligible for admission there into CSE and ECE respectively I did not go there because they were quite expensive for me. Also, I did not avail any quota to get admission into the KIET group of institutions. The admission criteria are quite simple after counselling we just had to go to college with required documents and a draft to get admission. Based on one's rank you get your branch, there is no other way to avail it.
Course Curriculum Overview
I prefered IT because of my interest in programming which I developed during my school days and also there are more opportunities in computer science-related fields as compared to any other because of growing automation core jobs are declining. The faculty-student ratio is good here. Teachers are always available to take doubts of students, soft skills classes are an integral part of the curriculum in which students interact and debate with teachers on a lot of issues. Also, it helps in the overall development of one's personality. Webinars and workshops are also organised by the college in the first year to make students comfortable about college life. Faculty are highly qualified mostly have done their post-grad from IITs and NITs.Many have done PhDs from Govt. colleges. Therefore, they have a strong grasp of their concepts. Exams are not that difficult if one focuses during class lectures he/she will be able to score good and exams are organised timely with 2 CTs and 1 PUE every semester.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are provided to 2nd and 3rd-year students by the IIPC department of the college. Many startups provide internship opportunity to students giving them the opportunity to develop their ongoing projects, websites and apps. Some internships are paid and some unpaid and firms like IBM, Wipro, Cisco also provide training to students as per the industrial requirements in different fields ranging from AI, Machine Learning, Cloud Technologies to Cyber Security. Departments also provide specialization in specific domains to students for better employment opportunities. Companies provide roles like junior developer, assistant manager to students to undertake different responsibilities. Projects are developed by students in IoT, machine learning, android developments in partnership with startups capable of solving issues persisting in our society and industry.
Placement Experience
After the completion of the 6th semester, i.e 3rd-year students become eligible for placements which starts taking place in the 7th semester. Placement drive is conducted and coordinated by the CRPC department which has tied up with many recruiters like Capgemini, Accenture, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, TCS are our major recruiters offering packages around 4-9 LPA. Some of our elite recruiters are Adobe, Amazon, Kronos offering lucrative packages greater than 9 LPA. The highest CTC given students of our college stands at 27.4 lacs and average is 5 lacs. IT branch bags the highest number of offers and also highest CTC because of its excellent faculty. 370 companies and 1637 offers were made according to official data with 90 % of students getting placed. My plans after getting the degree are to work as a software engineer at a good MNC.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees in comparison to other colleges are affordable here it's around 1,20,000 per annum. If one avails transport it adds around 15-25k more based on distance and hostellers have to pay around 90-95k per annum for hostel based on the accommodation they prefer(ac/non-ac). It will cost around 6 lac for locals and 8 lac for hostellers for the entire graduation. An examination fee of around 8000 is separately paid to AKTU by students every. College also provides financial assistance and helps in getting education loans for those who need it. AKTU also provides a scholarship facility, the criteria for that is your family income should fall under the UP govt. scheme of 2 lac(for gen/ obc/ minority) and 2.5lac (for sc/st).You will get around 50k(for general) and 60k (for once). For SC/ST amount is around 80k. These scholarships are subjected to the availability of govt. funds. The college has tied with many companies like Accenture, TCS, Wipro, Cisco, HCL who provide on-campus opportunities.
