IIT Ropar, B.Tech, Computer Science and Engineering

Reviewed on Jun 14, 2021(Enrolled 2019)

Remarks

For my given rank, this was the best college in which I was getting computer science branch. Also I preferred IIT Tag.For the admissions process, first we had to qualify for the Jee mains . Some top students from jee main were allowed to sit for jee advanced. The admissions to the college are based upon rank of iitjee

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The computer science branch is currently the best branch you can get at an IIT. Also the computer science branch fasicanted me from my child hood. The future from this branch is mostly bright. The teaching methods are great and mostly practical teaching methodology is used.

Class Size: 340Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements are on the better side. The placement of computer science branch are awesome . The median package previous year was 24 lpa. But for the other branches excluding electrical, the placements are not as good as much as computer science.

Campus Life

Social life is amazing. Every year 3 fest are organized.First one is the cultural festival , named zeitgeist. This fest is of nearly a week. Every day during this fest different shows are performed and at the end , there are 3 dj nights.Other two fest are advitiya and aarohan.

Admission

IITJEE, 2019 , score = 190

My Experince at Chandigarh University: Campus Life, Learning and Growth

Likes

The campus is beautiful, spacious, and offers good infrastructure with modern facilities.
The university provides good exposure to technical courses, eventrs , clubs, and extracurricular activities.
The campus has good labs, a library, and facilities that support students academic development.

Dislikes

The fees are high and losing a scholarship due to cgpa requirements can create a significant financial burden.
More personalized mentorship and regular career guidance sessions would help student prepare for their future carees.
more internship opportunities would further improve students professional growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the CSE curriculum covers relevant subjects and provides a good foundation programming and computer science. It prepares students for futher studies and careers, through more industry-based projects and practical learning would be bemigficial. Exams include MSTs and ESTs, with a manageable difficulty level through regi;ar preparation.

University life

Likes

The infrastructure and faculty is very good. The university campus is very big containing different departments with the well qualified teachers. The teaching methods are very good and we can approach easily to the management for our queries.
The discipline is very well in the university campus. The proper follow up of rules and regulations is there in the campus. The rules regarding ragging are very strict and nobody will be forgive if caught in such offences.
The placement rate of the university is quite well in each and every department whether it is biosciences or engineering or any other department. The university ensures that each and every deserving student should get placement.

Dislikes

The first thing I dislike about university is the students are not allowed to use lifts because for some departments the classes takes place on top floors and it is very difficult for students to climb those floors multiple times.
The other thing I dislike is the problem of traffic outside the main campus gate in morning mad evening time. It take lot of time to get out of that traffic and it ultimately makes students late for their classes.
The last thing I dislike is there is no free transportation services for students inside campus because the size of university is very big and to go from one point to other the students have to walk a lot.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course offers theoretical as well as practical knowledge It prepare me very well for outside life and obstacles that I will face in outside world I think individual students must be asked for learning There is no such difficulty level
