Entrance Preview

I took the SMIT entrance test and I ranked 151 and I opted for this because Manipal was a fairly renowned name and on top of that my parents didn't want me to go too far from my home-town.

Internships Opportunities

I have no idea about internship programmes of my college. Though in our final year, few students had come from Manipal, Jaipur as part of some internship programme. Again, no idea about stipend.

Placement Experience

0.5

Well, the major player in placements is TCS. I didn't opt for TCS because it is an IT company. I am from a core department and according to me that's not my place to be. If one is in IT or Computer Science departments then all the companies that come are suitable for them. For Electrical & Electronics there were literally no core companies that came to provide job opportunities.

College Events

1.5

There are departmental fests for each Department. Basically they all are cultural fests. Then there is Kaalrav, which is the cultural+technical fest. It spanned over 2 days. The mornings used to have the Technical stuff going on and after sunset, the cultural programmes began.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't avail the loan facility, but some of my friends did. I have no idea about the system but I think the interest rate was reasonable. No idea about the scholarship facility. I just know there IS a scholarship facility.

Exam Structure

One semester has two quizzes per subject, two sessionals per subject, two practical exams for whichever subject needs one and finally the main semester exam. The quizzes were easy and light. The sessionals turned us into corpses. If we had 6 subjects in a semester, then the sessionals used to take place in 3 days. Meaning 2 subjects per day.

I do not have much idea about this field. If I'm not wrong internships begin from 2nd to 3rd year itself, and placements from 4th year. The avergae package here is around 6 LPA, and the highest package offered is 56 LPA. That'll be all from side.

After 5th semester, the college has on-campus internship options and after during 7th semester, you will be eligible to sit for campus placements. Many companies come for campus placement including IBM, NVIDIA, Deloitte, etc. PLacements for CSE, ECE, and EEE are very good. In 2023 highest placement was from EEE of 44 lakhs from NVIDIA. In Mechanical most of the students get PPO. For Civil, very least options are available. Usually, 80% of students get placed every year.

Placement scenario is quite good in our college. Since it is one of the newly established NITs. We've better companies coming on campus as compared to other NITs that were established alongside us.
