Remarks
I haven't applied for any other college. There was no quota for admission. Admission was done on a merit basis and my percentage was pretty good so I got selected. Yes, there was a counseling day. I was asked to fill 5 top colleges I want and I filled the preference list, on the top was the School of law and luckily I got that.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for this course because I wanted to. Criminal law excites me, I find it quite interesting. The faculty is good however the student ratio is weird I would say. Most of the teachers have done Ph.D. in their course and their teaching method is good at least some of the teachers are good however others have to improve. My college follows the semester system and in each semester 3 internals are conducted and out of these 3 best 2 are selected and 1 external is conducted. The exams conducted are quite difficult to pass and they are conducted with proper rules and regulations.
Internships Opportunities
Till now I have done 2 internships, one was online and another was offline. I have done an online internship under the Maatr foundation by nyaay, here I wrote legal and social articles on various topics as well as conducted a survey. I have done an offline internship under the guidance of High Court Advocate Amar Singh Rathore, it was a great experience. I assisted him in various ongoing cases and researched various legal issues. I attended the proceedings in different courts namely High Court, District Court, and Family Court. As most of my study has been online due to covid, my college has not been able to provide internships opportunities.
Placement Experience
Earlier there was no placement committee in my college but now it has been made so we are approaching the companies to come and visit but if this doesn't happen then we will be thinking of an open campus as there are a lot more companies and availability of seats as compared to the college placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are not that much, it's a semi-government college so, therefore, studying here is not expensive. I got a scholarship named Pradhan Mantri Medhavi Yojna. In this scholarship my college fee is free. I am not aware of the job we can get on campus.
Campus Life
Youth festival is held in the month of September October and the students of all the departments can take part in it. There is a college library as well as the university library and all the books are available. Every year sports group goes to NLU for a competition. Sports day is also conducted. Extracurricular activities like moot court competition, debate competition also takes place. There is a committee named the Bulletin board committee, which is run by the students of the School of Law only and I am a part of it.
Hostel Facilities
I don't reside in the university hostels but as far as I have heard from my friend's food provided in the hostel is very good and also the environment is nice. I live in a private hostel in Bhawarkuan, Indore.
