"MDI Gurgaon" detailed review

Eligibility of the course includes an under graduation degree in any domain and a CAT exam with percentile (96+ is preferred). All application submissions were submitted over the internet on the official college website. The selection procedure was divided into three stages. A personal interview was organized depending on the CAT score. They made the ultimate decision based on the PI score, academic excellence, and academic diversity in the event of the final selection. Reservation benefit is according to government norms only.

I opted for the Finance domain in MDI Gurgaon because of my personal interest, it felt like the finest choice. It is a 6-term full-time study for 2 years with exams in all the trimesters. We finished an eight-week summer internship program and worked on a summer project and workshops as well. The faculty to student ratio is around 1:25 and the faculty is very experienced and holds doctorate degrees.

Companies like Goldman Sachs, Amex, HSBC, IDFC, Reliance, Tata Sky, Pidilite, etc visit the campus for summer internship opportunities for 1st-year students. The average stipend goes around 1-1.2 lakhs and the maximum is around 2- lakhs. The roles offered are almost the same as in the final year placements.

Around 100+ companies visit the campus for final placements of final year students and almost 95% of the batch gets placed from the campus only. GS, HDFC Bank, HSBC Bank, Synergy Consulting, RBL, Bank of America, American Express, etc are a few of the companies that provided finance-related opportunities. Students can apply for positions in IBD, corporate finance, treasury, and retail banking. The maximum compensation provided by recruiters was Rs. 45+ LPA, while the average income offered by maximum recruiters was Rs. 20+ LPA.

The 2 years complete fee is above 20 lakhs, but it is pretty worth it. The fee hike policy is around 50,000-1,00,000 every year. There are a few government scholarships available. The college also provides scholarships to students whose family income is less than 6 lakhs. Students can apply for scholarships such as the O.P. Jindal Scholarship, International Scholarships, MDI Scholarships, and others. Financially disadvantaged groups might get educational bank loans to finish their courses.

I haven't been to campus yet because of covid and online scenarios. But, as told by the seniors, there are several extracurricular activities available on campus. Academic clubs on the MDI campus include Impulse, ThinC, Strategist, Marquity, and others. MDI Gurgaon also hosts important events such as the Annual National Management Convention and Disguised Market Research Festival. Books and journals were provided online only.

The process is pretty straightforward. CAT exam followed by WAT and PI. The overall score is based on the combined score of CAT exam, WAT, PI, and prior work-ex or academic scores as well. WAT had mostly general awareness topics and for PI, the question revolved around my profile only and some hygiene questions like why MBA. I prepared through online classes only.
