Remarks

My decision to opt for the B.Tech program was merely based on the college placement record for B.Tech in comparison to the new IITs in India, and is ranked 31 among the top 50 engineering universities of India and I was able to clear the cutoff criteria of IIT Ropar. During my JOSAA counseling, I was allotted the seat and I immediately took admission to IIT Ropar.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum of the college is very good and sometimes it feels little lengthy probably because the curriculum is regularly updated according to the latest industrial guidelines and norms. The curriculum properly gives us an insight into all the aspects of engineering and it helps us to prepare us for the future and develop our analytical skills and decision-making abilities.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internship helps us to gain professional experience and provides us with insight into the corporate world. We have to take part in an internship program after completing the 3 years of our program. The internship is mandatory and the average stipend for the internship is around 55K.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college has a good placement record in comparison to a few new generation IITs. The college provides 95% placement for B.Tech why 95% because a few of my classmates decided to opt for higher studies. The college placement committee plays a crucial role in our placement. The college placement committee is fully responsible for our placement as they guide us through each round of placement. The highest package for our batch was around 45 LPA and the average salary package was around 18.50 LPA. Approx 95+ companies visited our campus for the placement drive.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship on a merit basis is available and scholarship for SC/ST/PWD is also available. The education loan facility is also available and admission staff will fully cooperate with the loan process. The college provides scholarships through more than 5+ schemes.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life of the college is good and fun. ADVITIYA is the technical fest of the college, ZEITGEIST is the cultural fest and AAROHAN sports fest. The labs of the college are equipped with all the modern facilities. The library is big and all kinds of books and novels are available from the different kinds of writers and authors. International research journals are also available and they are very helpful in assignments and research work.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel facility is good but we should also keep in mind that at this price point of Rs. 12000/- the kinds of facility we are getting is good. The hostel mess food quality is good and healthy. The hostel wardens and staff is very cooperative and the decorum of the hostel is well maintained. The hostel activities are run by the hostel management committee and the members of the hostel management committee are appointed by us. The menu of the mess keeps in changing. 24 hours of water supply, power supply and WiFi connectivity is available.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is highly experienced and of PhD level. The faculty always guides us to take part in extra-curricular activities and provides us full assistance during the research work and project activities. The faculty are eager to share their knowledge and experience with us.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
