Entrance Preview

I appeared for CAT and scored 98.70%. I opted for MDI as it is among the top 10 institutes of India. Besides MDI has a beautiful campus and is located in Gurgaon (proximity to several corporates).

Internships Opportunities

There are multiple companies that come for placements and a lot of students receive final offers based on their internship work. Refer the employment report for MDI for details on statistics.

Placement Experience

Everyone in the batch gets placed either through pre-placement offers or through final placements. As per the report on the website for batch of 2015, 103 companies participated for PGPM, 42 for HRM, 29 for IM. Average compensation being Rs.15-16 lakhs and highest package of Rs.25 lakhs (domestic).

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees at MDI keeps varying every year. For PGPM 2011-13 (my batch) it was Rs.12 lakhs which was at par with other premier institutes.One can easily avail loans from various banks. Several students in MDI took from UBI who had a low interest rate for top tier students and had minimum documentation requirements.

Fees and Financial Aid

UBI offers a good loan at reduced interest rates as mentioned above. Others like SBI, Credila offer good rates as well.

Campus Life

MDI has a lot of academic and cultural clubs. Also there are a lot of parties that keep happening. I did not come across any case of tolerance issues, so i believe that MDI is a tolerant institute. We also celebrated all the festivals in our college with equal enthusiasm.

Exam Structure

We had an exhaustive structure which included projects, mid terms, end terms etc and it was a trimester system.The first term was hectic but thereafter becomes normal and chill in second year based on your electives.

Faculty

Faculty is one of the best in India. Since, MDI has the location convenience most of the professors stay with their families and are accessible even after college hours.

One of the best universities for MBA

Placement Experience:

Placements is good. Higher placements come for Engineering students but MBA and BBA students also get avg placement of 8-9 LPA. Many of my seniors from last year got good placements at top companies like Hyundai, Maruti,Amkette, Flipkart, Adaan.

Placement Experience:

In the first year, there are placement opportunities for internship and in the second year, there are proper campus placements that take place, led by a student elected placement committee. Some of the top companies that extended offers for the students were Microsoft, Google, AccStrat, ITC, Mondelez, JPMC etc. The highest package offered was 5L and the average was 2.2L with 100% placements for the summer internships. I plan to work in the finance or consult sector after getting my degree.

Remarks:

The campus life at our college is very enjoyable. The system of library help the students to gain knowledge through different books. Ciunselling system is also provided at the college so that the student can get a healthy environment. Indoor Game facilities and a common room is also provided. These all are the positive things about our college.

Remarks:

College is cleaned. Rooms are very airy it would be good if there was an AC. But it is o.k. Campus is cleaned and green. Canteen is so good. They use to make fresh food every day which is the best thing of them so there is no need to worry about stomach ache due to old food. Overall good college.

Remarks:

Rules are strict. Students have to be punctual at college timings. In starting, schedule seems tough but after days goes, all turns into quality. Whatever the schedule is: it is good and long term beneficial for the growth of the students.

Life at NIFM

Remarks:

Considering the experience of the participants, the course has been designed for learning and upgradation of knowledge and skills nationally as well as internationally. The Course curriculum also includes one week foreign exposure to a neighbouring country. The international attachment of the participants of this group was organised at ‘Universiti Utara Malaysia, Kedah, Malaysia’.

An enriching experience

Remarks:

The uniqueness of the programme lies in its extensive use of market professionals as resource persons for the programme. Apart from sound grounding in academic concepts pertaining to the capital markets, the participants gets a chance to interact with senior regulatory officials, executives of exchanges, leading merchant bankers and foreign institutional investors.

Use of GenAI in Customer support function

I chose MDI Gurgaon over XLRI Delhi, IIM Shillong, new and baby IIMS, NITIE - PGDSM. The reason for choosing MDI was its proximity to my hometown, Tier 1 status. I was rejected from IIM ABCLKI and FMS - Delhi mostly on the basis of my undergrad scores and a CAT percentile which was not high enough. Internship in ABG !!

You need to appear in the CAT exam. Any percentile over 90%ile with a sectional of 70 70 70 cleared will fetch you a call from MDI Gurgaon. However, to convert core, 96+ is a safe score for non-engg and 98.5+ for GEM. After you get a shortlist, you'll have to appear and fill out a form which MDI-G will send and you can edit your details there. Further, you'll get a PI date.
