How Things Are At GLA University, Mathura?

I applied for GLA University Entrance Examination back in 2021, forms were available online at glauniversity.in. The admission involved a test which we had to qualify for enrollment in University and required minimum 75%+ marks in PCM in 12th . The test was held online on the University Students Portal and the test went on for 2 hours. I didn't get any reservation but got a waiver in the college tuition fees. I got 25000 per year waved off my college tuition fee only if I maintain CPI of 8.0 or above.

I chose Btech in Computer Science and Engineering at GLA University because I was interested in computer based applications and Computers in general so I opted for a course which I liked and wanted to pursue. In our CSE branch we have approx. 1100 students currently in 1st year. For every 30 students we have one assistant professor and for every 60 student we have a class advisor. So we get full advantage from our faculty. Our faculty staff is a team of Associate and Assisstant professors and they are well qualified for us and we enjoy learning with them. Most of our faculty members have completed their doctorate and have good teaching experiences in their own respective fields. Students studying in Btech have two semesters per year and in each semester we have mid term examinations of 30 marks and End term examinations of 50 marks. Mid term examinations are very tough and difficult to score marks and an aggregate of 75% is considered very good.

Students can apply for college internship from 2nd year onwards. Companies recruit students of 2nd year for college interships and provide paid internships also. Small projects are generally given to a student or a group and a time limit for submission.

Students are eligible for placements from 6th semester of college and 200+ companies visited GLA in 2021-22 year. 91% of students were placed this year with an average package of 6 lakhs per annum and highest CTC at 44 lakhs per annum. After getting degree my plans are to work hard and get placed in good company with offeres at least 15-16 lakhs per annum.

Tuition fee at GLA Univeristy is rather cheap considering other colleges which provide Btech course. For Btech The complete fee of 1st year including addmission fee is 181000 without any scholarship, and remains around this margin only for rest of the course, this means 724000 is the total cost of Btech Course excluding Hostel and living expense. For hostel we have to pay 95000 for 1st year which includes living and hostel mess (60000 + 35000). And if we opt for hostel in next year we get a consession of 8000 for each preceding year. I have opted for VIP hostel facility or wing facility which costs 115000 (80000 + 35000). Students get scholarship on the basis of JEE Mains and Advanced marks or their 12th Board percentage. I got a 25000 scholarship because I scored good marks in my 12th class. Students who are financially unable to pay their fee are supported by the college board and their fee is waved off to a negligible amount.

At GLA many annual programs are held which includes the annual freshers and farewell for placed and graduating students. Annual fests also include the New year party. Apart from this many big cultural events take place every month which are organised by Student clubs under the supervision of the college Faculty members. They include Dance party , DJ Nights , etc. And main popular events for students include hackathons which are conducted every month or so which include cash price and many gifts for winners. In our library we have both facilities Ebooks and physical books. Main central library have over 1 lakh books of Course and Non course. Every academic block has its own library. Classrooms in GLA include lecture halls and Tutorial class rooms . Both of these include computers and projector facilities which chalk boards and white boards. For sports we have a very big sports center from where we can issue any sport article as per requirement , everything is processed online. ECEL

For 1st year at GLA we have : VIP HOSTEL(wings), Normal Hostel 3 seater, Normal Hostel 1 seater Mess is same in all the hostel which costs 35000 per year. Living cost in college hostel is a little expensive if you choose VIP hostel for 1st year because hostel prices reduce in 2,3,4th year of college. But hostels are very clean and well maintained. I opted for 3 seater room in 1st year and my hostel has all the facilities and the best thing about it is bathroom facility, which is cleaned daily. Hostel mess food includes : Four times meal: 1. Breakfast ( 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM ) 2. Lunch ( 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM ) 3. Snacks ( 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM ) 4. Dinner ( 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM ) Mess menu has unique meal for each day and each time of the day and also special meals on Sundays and Thursdays Dinner which include sweets and Ice Creams also. Hostel are booked through online students portal. Pay all at once.
